"Of course, Mr Jenkins. I'll get back to you" I ended the call and called Kourtney, she answered. "Mr Norman cancelled, I'll be heading to Celestial, I'm gonna go check out the what has been done"
"Okay, I'll be there soon. Are you coming to the office now?" She asked. "Yes" I ended the call after that and glanced out the window.
It was Tuesday, I was heading to the office. I picked up the schedule Harrison gave me yesterday.
A lot of this events clashed with important days for me. Like the trip to Utah clashed with the Mayor's event and the dinner tonight, I don't even wanna attend.
"Change direction, we are heading to the Empire" I informed Jeffrey and he swerved.
Moments later.
I got up the stairs and walked into the busy lobby, I headed to the receptionist. "Good morning, Mrs Ferrari?"
"Is he in?" I asked. "Yes"
I headed to the elevator after that. Today I wore a black blazer jacket, crossed across my body with black fish net thoughts and black heels. I stepped into the elevator and was grateful no one entered till I got off.
I headed down the hall to his office. As I reached for the knob, I noticed it was slightly opened. I heard a laugh coming from inside and then voices.
I peeked in to see a lady on the sofa, she sat crossed legs beside Travis, they were having a drink.
I knocked lightly before throwing the door open. All eyes shot back to me, Travis looked up at me, surprise shot across his face
He wasn't the only one good at surprises.
"Hey" I said, walking in. "Pearl"
Pearl? He got up and walked to me.
"I thought I should surprise you" I used his words and he smiled. "Meet Erica" he introduced me to the woman who was already up.
She was pretty with her blonde hair all wavy, just the kinda woman he liked. "Nice to meet you, Pearl. I've been hoping to meet you"
"Oh, I... I haven't heard anything about you" I replied, glancing at Travis. "She works in our branch in Washington " he added.
"I joined his flight back last night. I'll be here for a while"
Joined his flight back?
"That's nice" I replied. "I didn't believe when I saw the news about the wedding. He couldn't even tell me, I would have attended"
"It's no problem, I take it you both go way back" I pointed out. "Yeah, you could say that. Like I put it, we both built this Empire together. We met in Italy, I'm like his work wife" she admitted and we both chuckled, but mine was dry and not genuine.
"I'll get back to you with my reply, Erica" he said to her. "Think it through, Travis" she grabbed her bag. "I'll be waiting for your call" she rubbed his shoulder lightly before turning to me.
"Nice to meet you again, Pearl "
"Of course " I watched her as she walked out. Travis headed up the steps to his desk at the other side.
I just stood there, hands crossed over my chest. "Why are you here?" He asked while I glanced down at the half bottle of champagne.
How long have she been here?
"I'm here to talk about Utah" I said, walking up the stairs to the table he had taken a seat. "What about Utah?" He didn't even spare me a glance as he went back to work.
