I stared at the card, it read Empire. It was a billion dollar company owned by Travis, he bought a huge share from Alpha 3, his father's company immediately we got out of college and now he was soon gonna take over that one too.
He doesn't want his twin, Trent, to claim any of it and if it makes you feel better, Trent is an asshole.
I sighed and dropped the card and leaned back, swerving lightly in my seat.
I'm not giving that shit any thought, my answer remains.
I glanced at the clock and the time read past 6 pm, I haven't left the office all day.
Maybe I'm a tad bit of a workaholic.
This is the only thing I've put my mind to for the last three years. It hasn't failed me...well until now.
I glanced at the calendar, It was the 22nd, letting out another frustrated sigh, I stared up at the ceiling.
I'm bored.
I sat up, my eyes shooting to my bag and coat. Getting up, I grabbed them both and then turned back to my table with all the documents scattered on it.
Yeah, that's tomorrow's problem.
Walking past offices, I got down the stairs to the lobby, the receptionist looked up at me. "Are you leaving, Miss Vega?" She asked
"Yeah, tell the girls I'll see them tomorrow"
"Okay, have a good evening" she said. "Of course" I got out and pressed the button, the white Benz beeped.
What? I've had my glory days.
Plus, I hate white cars but I couldn't find this Benz in black, so...
I got in and drove out, sighing, I stared dead at the road, my mind was a million miles away.
Unconsciously, I swerved to the left, to a route I don't normally take. I pulled up after few minutes in front of a bar called Tripple.
It's been a while since I've been here. I kinda quit alcohol a while back but after that asshole visited, I've had urges that I couldn't seem to control anymore.
As usual, the bar was chill at this time, that was the one thing I appreciated.
Taking my seat by the counter, I hung my jacket beside. "Had a long day?" The bartender asked.
"You have no idea" I replied. "I know what you need" he said, shooting me a smile.
My phone beeped and I got it out my bag and checked out the text from the girls.
They were wondering were I took off to and their best guess was I was heading home. I shook my head as I texted them back but then I paused when i noticed someone sit beside me.
I peeked at the gentleman beside as he placed his order, we exchanged looks and I was the first to look away.
I dropped my phone as the glass got placed in front of me, "Thanks" I said to the bartender before taking a sip.
"Hmm" I hummed, looking up at him and he smiled. "This is nice"
"You needed it"
"What's that?" the man beside asked and I turned to him. "I don't know but I can get a hint of apple. I love apple drinks" I mentioned, chuckling and taking another gulp.
"Apple spritz" the bartender answered. "I'll like to try that" he said and I glanced at him.
"Really?"
"Yeah, it did get a smile out of you" he said and I chuckled, looking away. "I'm Aiden" he supplied.
"Pearl" i replied, taking another sip from the glass, his was placed in front of him and he took a sip. "Yeah, this is indeed good" he confirmed
"Yeah" I agreed, taking in all his features, from his thick dark hair to his brown eyes. "You look put together for a guy in a bar"
"I could say same about you" he said. "Just dropped by from the office" I chided, tucking my hair behind my ear.
"It must have been hectic"
"You have no idea. What about you?" I asked, turning to him. "I occasionally drop here and I took had a long day"
"What did you do? Sign a billion dollar deal and now you own most of the city?" I asked and he chuckled. "You're funny, Pearl"
"Trust me, I'm not being sarcastic. Rich people act like they've got problems" I mentioned, taking another sip from the glass. "But everyone do"
"Not the assholes who think money fixes everything and then go out there and tell the world they care about them when in reality, it's all to their selfish interest"
"You sound like you're really close to this people or you might be one of them" he teased. "I gotta survive" I replied, chuckling.
He nodded while I finished the content in my glass. "If I keep drinking, I might not make it to work tomorrow" I mentioned, placing it down. "Here" he handed me his card.
I read through it and looked up at him. "RedCo. I knew you were one of them" I jested and he laughed.
"It was meeting you, Pearl. I hope to see you again" he said and I locked gaze with him.
"Goodnight Aiden"
Grabbing my bag and jacket, I headed out and got Into my car. Maybe a night out isn't so bad.
