(Tamara's POV)
I was awaken by someone shaking me it was the nurse I sat up then the nurse shook Sarah awake too "girls come on shower time"the nurse told us we followed her down to the showers we went in separate stalls and got undressed then I took a shower when I left Sarah was back in her clothes but she hadn't showered the nurse was trying to convince her to have a shower but Sarah refused after 15 minutes we were then back to our rooms I was in my bed and fell asleep quickly
another few days passed it was now Friday three more days left then I could see Lucy and Tim again I snuck up to Sarah's room but she was on the floor and there was nurses holding her down and she looked really pale "is sarah okay?"I asked concerned the nurse who was usually on my corridor came over to me "Tamara you should go back to your room"the nurse told me as she tried to turn me away from Sarah but I didn't move "what happening to her?"I asked as u saw her arms and legs start shaking ever so slightly because they were being held down "is she okay?"I asked "answer me!"I yelled at the nurse "she attempted okay but you need to go to your room now"the nurse told me sternly "no I'm not leaving until I know she's okay!!"I said loudly as I moved in Sarah's room
"Tamara that's not a good idea"the nurse told me
"it's my choice and I'm staying"u told the nurse as I sat on Sarah's bed and watched as they started pumping her stomach with charcoal and she started to throw up a lot of pills and tablets then they got a cloth and wiped her down she looked a bit better now then she gasped for air I got off the bed and the nurses lifted her up and tucked her in they left and I convinced the regular nurse to let me stay with Sarah
The next morning I woke up and Sarah was still asleep but an hour passed and she woke up "it d-didn't work"she mumbled sadly to herself as she sat at up "do you feel okay?"I asked her she just nodded "yea just tired and a bit off but it's always like that after you know"she said "I guess idk never tried it" I said
"you know it's actually not as painful as you'd think it only hurts for the first two minutes then you pass out or go really numb and can't feel anything"Sarah said "oh I always thought it hurt"I said "yea everyone does"Sarah said as she got out her bed and moved towards her bathroom "just give me a sec I'm going to pee"she said as she stumbled into the bathroom
a few minutes later she came back out and we started to talk "you know I'm going to miss you when I leave Monday"I told Sarah "really?"she asked surprised
"of course I will your so sweet and nice I just think you should try get better and go foster care trust me you'll find a good family"I told Sarah "idk it's a big risk so I'd rather stay here"she said "I could always try convince Lucy and Tim into fostering you"I told her "I doubt that it would work tho plus I'd probably be dead before you convinced them"she told me "okay hold on a second I need to go grab something"I told Sarah as I ran down to the nurse "are you okay Tamara?"she asked "yes but I need a favour can you get me a safety pin string beads and a pen?"I asked her "sure let me see yep here's everything we are everything you need"nurse said as she handed me string beads two safety pins and lastly a pen "thanks nurse" I said turning around and running back to Sarah's room as I entered with the stuff Sarah seemed puzzled "what that for?"she asked confused "it's going to help you"I told her "how is that going to help me?"she asked "just give me a second to explain"I told her "okay sure"she said I picked up the pen first and moved closer to her "can I draw something on your arm?"I asked her "okay but I still don't see how it will help me"she said as she rolled up her sleeve
I drew a butterfly on her arm "tell me someone you love a lot"I told her "idk I guess you I mean u don't have any friends or family but you now"she said so I wrote my name under the butterfly "so how is this supposed to help me?"she asked "everytime you want to $elf harm look at the butterfly and when you do cut you have to rub the butterfly off and then it's like your losing me because you hurt yourself"I told her "okay"she said still confused "okay then this I said as I picked up the string and safety pin I put the lettered beads on the string to spell "I'm proud of you Sarah"then I put the safety pin on the middle of the words then I tied it around Sarah's neck loosely "and this safety pin is you making a promise to stay here and not try k!ll yourself again"I told her and she hugged me I hugged her back after a few minutes we let go of each other "I think you need a matching necklace"she said laughing "well obviously without the safety pin"she chuckled "okay but first let me add the second safety pin on to your gown put this time you put it on so I know you promise for definite"I told her and she nodded she put it on her gown "see I promise"she said pointing to the safety pin I laughed "yes I see"I said laughing we both made matching bracelets mine said "Sarah's my bsf" Sarah's said "Tamara's my bsf"we both put them on and Sarah made me a necklace that was like hers it said "I'm proud of you Tamara"she put it on for me and we both cleaned the mess up then we got in bed "so does this mean your going try your best to get better now?"I asked her "yes I will try my hardest to get better and not do anything stupid when you leave"she said as we both moved closer together and sat up the nurse came in "girls tea time come on"she said we followed her to the cafeteria after ten minutes is almost finished but Sarah hadn't touched hers "Sarah you need to try eat"I whispered into her ear she was about to protest so I whispered "for me and that cute butterfly on your arm" she smiled and picked up her fork and she took a bite before swallowing it inside I was screaming with joy and the nurses seemed to be really proud of her too she managed to eat half then stopped we went back to her room and got in her bed before falling asleep.
