(Tamara's POV)
We went to mums office at the station "hey Ange have you got any evidence yet?"lucy asked "not really we were able to pull his prints from inside the room but it's still not enough evidence"angela said "what evidence do we need?"i asked "maybe evidence he took you like a camera or something"angela said "maybe we should see if there's a camera outside the building"Lucy said we headed back to the building and saw a camera in a shop doorway that was pointing at the door of the building we went inside the shop "hi LAPD can we see your security camera footage please"angela said showing her bagde the guy nodded heading gave us the tape and we took it to court the next week they said he was guilty and he was sentenced to 15 years in prison I was happy he was going away we went home and I went in my room I sat on my bed and watched my phone when I heard a knock at my door
"tam it's Lucy can I come in?"lucy asked "yea come in"I said she came in my room and sat on my bed "what happened?"I asked "nothing this is a good thing okay I was thinking since it's December in a week we could go out and get some decorations and a tree and stockings and you need an advent calendar"she said "why?"i asked confused "because its Christmas soon"she said "Christmas?"I asked confused "yes on Christmas Day you get a roast dinner and presents"Lucy said "that's cool I've never had a Christmas before"I told Lucy "well I guess we have to make this Christmas really good then it sucks we couldn't celebrate before because of the ward and then well Tim but now Christmas is going to be so fun"Lucy said excitedly we got dressed and headed to the shop I helped Lucy pick out some decorations and then we got two stockings one that said L for Lucy and one that said T for Tamara then I got to choose an advent calendar it was so fun then we went home and decorated the house and we made cookies then we watched some Christmas films it was so fun.
(Lucy's POV)
It was a week until Christmas and me and Angela were going Christmas shopping together
I had already gotten some small things for Tamara but I was going to get her something much more meaningful then it was Christmas Eve me and Tamara watched more Christmas movies then we made cookies and poured a glass of milk for Santa then she put a carrot on the tray for the reindeer "mum do you think Santa will come now?"she asked happily "I think he will sweetheart but we need to get you in bed okay" I said we went in her room and I tucked her in before heading to my room I wrapped up the presents and stuck them under the tree then I filled up our stockings and ate some of the cookies and drank some of the milk then I cut the carrot and took a few bites before putting it back on the tray the next morning I went into Tamara's room "Merry Christmas"I said shaking her awake "did Santa come?"she asked excitedly "let's go see"I said smiling at how happy she was getting we went into the living room and she started to jump up and down seeing all the presents first we opened stockings then I let Tamara open her presents I made her save some for later I made tea and we ate it then she ran back to the living room i let her open the rest of her presents then she hugged me tightly "thanks mum for all the presents"she said excitedly "of course baby but you still have one more"I said handing her an envelope she opened it and pulled out the paper work "your adopting me!"she said loudly she quickly hugged me and I hugged her back
"I love you baby"I said pulling her close.
We settled down and fell asleep the next day we headed over to Angela's for her Christmas party it was really fun and I was dancing with mum
"Foods ready!"Angela said we all got some food from the kitchen I didn't want to take to much so I only took one of the small chicken pieces and 1 biscuit I sat next to mum "baby is that enough to fill you up?"lucy said glancing at my plate "no but I don't want to take too much"I said "come on let's go grab you more okay"Lucy said I nodded we went back to the kitchen and I whispered what I wanted to mum and she got it for me then we sat back down and I ate all my food i leant on mum a little and buried my head in her chest "you okay?"she asked stroking my hair I nodded "just tired"I told her cuddling more into her she moved her plate off her lap and onto the coffee table and pulled me into her lap "go sleep tam" she said rubbing my back I let my eyes fall closed.
When I woke up I was on the sofa and everyone was outside I walked outside but I slipped and fell into the pool I started to go under the water and my vision went black.
(Lucy's POV)
I was talking to Nyla when Angela screamed i followed her gaze "TAMARA!"I yelled as I dived into the pool and got her to the surface Angela lifted her onto the floor and I got out I checked for pulse and there wasn't one I started compressions and she hadn't opened her eyes yet I continued for another five minutes
"Lucy she's gone just stop"Angela said coming over to me "no I still have time she's not dead yet"I said continuing the compressions she she started coughing up water a minute later I quickly pulled her into my chest as her eyes opened "someone ring an ambulance now!"I shouted holding Tamara closer to my chest
"ambulance is nearly here"Celina said I just nodded the ambulance came and assessed Tamara and said she needed to be taken to hospital as she still had water in her lungs and would need oxygen they put her on the gurney and then put a blanket over her with the strap is keeping her secure I kept stroking her hair and went to climb in the ambulance but the paramedics said I had to meet them at hospital as they had to remove the water from her lungs now they quickly shut the door and sped off I jumped in my car speeding as fast as I could to the hospital I quickly got out and kicked my car
I ran straight to the front desk "Tamara Collins"I shouted "what?"the receptionist asked "TAMARA COLLINS WHATS HER ROOM NUMBER"I demanded "uhh room 22"she said i ran to Tamara's room and saw being wheeled in on the gurney asleep "how is she?"I asked the paramedic who was bringing her in "she's okay we had to sedate her because she was freaking out in the ambulance when we were trying to do the tube to remove water"the paramedic said he lifted her into her bed and left an hour later she woke up "m-mum"she croaked out her voice hoarse "hey baby you feeling okay?"i asked taking her hand "I feel okay the ambulance was really scary tho I was alone and they kept trying to put a tube down my throat I punched one of them and they sedated me"she said sad "i know he said they had to sedate you do you feel okay now?"I asked she nodded "yea now your here I feel better"she said as she pushed herself to the edge of the bed and patted next to her "s-sleep with me?"she asked tired I climbed in next to her and she rested her head on my chest and started falling asleep a nurse came in and tried to place an oxygen mask on Tamara but she covered her face with her hands and buried it deeper in my chest "tam baby you need oxygen"I said rubbing her back "please can you let the nurse put it on you?"i asked Tamara slowly turned over and sat up the nurse put the oxygen mask on Tamara and left Tamara lay back and fell asleep but she woke up when she tried to lay on her side she started to cry a little "baby what's wrong?"i asked hugging her "I can't sleep comfy with the mask please can i get it changed to a tube instead"she asked I nodded I pressed the nurse button and she changed the mask out for a tube Tamara immediately turned around and lay on my chest falling asleep.
