The weekend passed with nothing out of the ordinary, other than Izuku, Katsuki, and Himi doing their daily routine of cleaning up the beach. The garbage collectors always arrived at 12 in the noon, courtesy of Nezu, and briefly hauled the garbage they had segregated out of the beach dump.
After that was done, they just headed back home and lazed around like the teenagers they were. Well, Izuku just liked lazing around. Preferably around a fire, but there was no fireplace in his apartment, and the kitchen stove was a fire hazard, so he stuck to scrolling through the net.
Come Monday, it was back to school. Izuku hummed a discordant tune as he put on his red shoes, the final ensemble to complete his uniform. Himiko, meanwhile, was busy complaining about how her kneesocks being a little tighter than they used to be. The less said about her underwear, the better.
Waving farewell to his mother, Izuku and Himiko were off, one wearing an impish grin as she clung tightly onto her partner, the other just going along with the flow as they headed towards U.A. High School.

The moment they got on the train, Izuku could feel it. The stares, the muttering, the pictures – even though that last one would warrant judgmental stares for the breach of privacy, but sadly privacy was a luxury in this day and age. Kids walked up to him as they gazed in awe at his figure, some of them asking what it was like winning one of the biggest competitions for the youth in the year.
"It's great." Izuku lied as easily as he breathed. Normally, he wouldn't lie and just tell them straight to their face that winning the whole thing wasn't really that fulfilling because of his very personal reasons that he would like to keep to himself. They'd probably lock him in a crazy house if it was ever revealed that he liked fights to the deaths. "Who knows, maybe you'll be on the same stage when you grow up."
Waving goodbye to the kid, as well as the mother who had looked a bit ashamed as to what her child was doing, Izuku found a spot right next to the door, Himi landing her chin right above his shoulder. Of course, the act was observed by the passengers and the PDA was making others recoil a bit.
The ride was spent in silence, the train car getting more and more congested on each stop, and once it was their turn to depart, they hopped off. It wasn't a long walk to the school from there, and on the way, they got looks from some of the students that were also on their way to their respective schools.
Strolling up to the main gate, the stares and whispers were all but nulled, U.A. students just went along their day as they hurried to their respective class. He guessed that they weren't that much into the Sports Festival, seeing that they were already in the most prestigious school of Japan. Of course, save for some of the first years General Course, who gave him a wide berth, fear evident in their eyes.
"So, I'll see you for lunch?" Izuku turned to Himi, who gave him a quick hug and a peck on the cheeks. This garnered some attention, but not really enough to matter. He raised an eyebrow at the action and watched Himi saunter away while whistling, her grin stretched from ear to ear.
Okay... First time Himi ever kissed him, even on the cheek. At most, it was just hugs and body contact, and even some neck biting, but a kiss? Something must've gone in her head.
Did he care? Not a single bit... Okay, maybe a little, but it wasn't a cause for concern.
A brief walk into the building and he was bombarded by congratulatory comments from the student body who passed by. Taking in the complements, he gave them his acknowledgment as they headed to class. The hallways were otherwise silent.
