Chapter 13

Sadie's POV
" Leo do you want to go to the movies after school? " I asked from across the table since Amara took my seat.

" Sure " he said.

Everyone was quiet while we ate our lunch. I stood up and walked away without saying a word. Why was Leo so distant with me? He hardly spends time with me anymore he's always with Amara.

I walked down the halls not watching where I was going. I was staring at the ground as I walked. I probably should have looked up because I bumped into someone and fell.

" S-sorry! " I exclaimed then looked up. " Emo Punk? "

" Cupid " he grunted. We stared at each other until he held his hand out. I grabbed it and he helped me up.

" Uh thanks " I said awkwardly brushing off some dust.

" Just watch where you're going "

" Whatever....say why aren't you in the cafèteria? "

" I should be asking you that "

" Uh I didn't feel like sitting with them I wanted some space "

" Same "

" Oh well would you like to eat lunch with me? "

" Whatever "

" I'll take that as a yes! " I exclaimed then walked towards the benches outside.

Ed and I ate in silence. I sighed as I spotted Leo and Amara walking side by side heading towards the bleachers. Why weren't the others with them? I clenched my fists and took a deep breath.

" Uh Emo, I'm going to go talk to Leo you can go to the cafèteria if you want " I said while standing up and stretching. Ed nodded in response.

I found Leo and Amara sitting on the bleachers talking and laughing. My heart hurt at that sight. Am I over reacting about all of this? I walked over to them and tapped Leo's shoulder. He turned around and gave a weak smile.

" Oh hey Sadie what's up? " he asked.

" Uh we-well I was wondering if I could sit with you but uh nevermind since you're sitting with Amara already " I said weakly.

" Wha-what no you can sit here if you want to "

" No it's fine " I said then walked away.

*** TIME SKIP *** ( after school )

" You're going to the movies with Leo right? " Sophie asked. I nodded.

" When was the last time you guys hung out?! " she said.

" Ugh I dont even know "

We walked towards the gate. I stopped and froze when I saw Leo....and Amara. I let out a big sigh. Amara saw me and motioned for me to come over. I slowly began walking.

" You know you can tell Amara that this was suposed to be a date right? " Sophie whispered.

" I know but Leo will get annoyed "

I said bye to Sophie and the 3 of us made our way to the movies. We decided to watch an action movie. Leo sat between me and Amara. I got my own popcorn and Leo and Amara shared one because I wanted extra butter but they didn't.

During the intermission Amara went to the washroom. There was an awkward silence until I spoke up.

" Uh Leo are you free Saturday? "
