Chapter 47

Sophie's POV
Pale white lights blinded my eyes. My head felt heavey and I was strangly cold. I shivered and pulled the blanket over myself.

" Sophie you're awake! " a familier voice exclaimed.

I opened my eyes again and looked around the room. I was in a bright white hospital room. Sadie and Alison sat on chairs across my bed. I quickly sat up in alarm. Why was I in the hospital?!

" Wh-what happened? " I asked.

" You passed out " Sadie answered.

" How?! " I started to get nervous and fidgity.

Sadie cocked her head to the side and rasied an eyebrow, " You don't remember? "

I shook my head " no "

" Percy's i- "

" -in the hospital.... " I finished her sentence in disbelief as I remembered what happened.

My heart pounded against my chest as my breathing got shallow in seconds. I clentched my fists to prevent them from shaking and closed my eyes shut.

No, that isn't true! He can't be in the hospital! Even if he is, he's probablt just sick, nothing else!

" What happened to him, is he okay?! " I blurted out. Panic rose inside of me.

" Car accident.... " Ali spoke softly.

My heart went plunging down into my stomach. All the feelings of worry, panic, anxiousness, and sadness turned stone cold. It felt like a part of me was torn away and burned into a million tiny ashes.

" H-He's okay right? " I asked, my voice shakey.

Sadie and Alison guiltily looked down. It was like someone threw a rock at me. I stood there, frozen, as pain and sorrow washed over me.

This is all a joke! Percy's okay! Nothing happened to him! He's perfectly safe....

The thought of Percy being in pain snapped my back to reality.

" Wha-what roo-room? " I asked, my voice so broken it was almost unaudible.

Sadie's head jerked up, " Sophie you can't leave till the doctor says so "

" I don't care what the doctor says. I need to see him " I choked.

" 137 " Sadie answered.

" Tha-Thank you " I mummbled and swung my legs off the cold bed.

I through on my jacket over the drabby hospital clothes, and made my way down the hall, my whole body shaking. My eyes quickly scanned the numbers written across the grey doors.

134...135...136...137! There it is!

I grabbed the handle with a shakey grip, and fought back tears. I need to be strong for his sake.

I twisted the door knob and pushed the door open - which felt like it weighted a gazillion pounds.

A single tear escaped my eye as I saw Percy laying lifeless on the bed. Oxygen masks were strapped to his mouth, and there were different tubes pumping blood to him. His right arm and left leg had casts on them, and his right leg was wrapped in bandages.

His chest slowly went up and down as his breathing was slow and shallow. His skin was deadly pale, and there were bandaids wrapped around his head.

Leo, Justin, and Zack were fast asleep on the chairs.

" He's not okay " I barly whisper as tears poured from my eyes.
