Chapter 28

Leo's POV *** TIME SKIP *** ( last day before december break )

It was early December, over the past few weeks I have been slowly putting my apology plan into action. This has to be special and I need to show her that I really mean it.

I started off small, whenever I see her in the hall way I would smile, in class I would very slightly talk her and just ask how's she's doing. She didn't seem to be getting too mad which was good, she did look a bit annoyed though.

In gym we were playing dodge ball. Someone from the other team whipped the ball at Sadie and she didn't notice. I quickly ran and caught the ball with one hand before it hit her. I scanned the gym and realized it was Amara who did that. I rolled my eyes

" You're out Amara! " I yelled across the gym.

She glared at me and went to sit down at the bench. I turned back towards Sadie and smiled a bit. She just glared at me and snatched the ball out of my hand.

" I could have got it myself " she hissed then walked off.

I sighed then shook my head. Nothing seems to be working! Everytime I got some where close to making her smile she would get mad again.

At the end of the day Mr.Silva asked me to come to his room, I had no idea why. When I got to his class I saw Sadie standing there with her arms crossed. Mr.Silva smiled mischiviously....oh no what is he planning.

" Since both of you are my favourite students I knew you two wouldn't mind cleaning up the cafèteria! There was a food fight earlier and it's pretty messy " Mr.Silva told us.

" Uh...."

" Mr.Silva I think I have to go some where tonight " Sadie interupted.

" Don't worry I already told your parents and they are alright with it "

" Oh.... "

" Well better get cleanin' " he winked and tossed us some rags and buckets.

Sadie stormed off towards the cafèteria leaving me there staring at the teacher dumbly.

" I know all about your little apology plan Hernandez. I decided I would help out. This is your chance to talk to her a bit " Mr.Silva explained.

" Wh-what? How did you know?! " I asked, dumbfound.

" I know a lot of things..... "

" ........ "

" Now get cleaning! "

" Ye-yes sir! " I exclaimed then dashed off towards the cafèteria.

I tossed my backpack on the ground and starting cleaning the tables. Shouldn't the janitor do this? Sadie was facing away from me and scrubbing fast. She obviously wants to go home fast.

Mr.Silva gave me the perfect chance to talk to her and I'm here wasting time. What should I say?! That's when I noticed Sadoe violently shaking. I started to get worried.

" Sadie are okay? " I asked, concern pouring into my words.

She countined to shake and then she sniffled. She's crying!

Sadie's POV
I don't why I suddenly felt pity towards Leo. He was trying to be nice and fix things but I'm just pushing him away. I don't know why. I felt hurt but I also wanted to fix things and at least be friends.

I know what happened was bad and it hurt like hell but everyone deserves a second chance. Yeah Leo screwed up but so did I... maybe he was with Amara because I was hanging out with Ed. Maybe I was the one who was neglecting him.
