Four months pass in the blink of an eye.
It isn't eventful—at least, not for Lani. Dream is doing well. That's what she hears, anyway.
She doesn't talk to him much anymore. He ended up pursuing Thea, and Lani figures his new girlfriend wouldn't appreciate his ex-something texting him every day. So she distances herself.
She still talks to Sapnap and George, which is nice. A reminder that not everything has changed.
Dream doesn't reach out either. It's disappointing, but understandable.
Now, she mostly watches his life through Instagram stories and dumb tweets he makes, or whatever he posts online. Occasionally, Gia or Sylvee will mention something about him in passing.
He's happy. And she's happy that he's happy.
Good for him.
But some nights, when everything is a little too quiet, she misses him more than usual.
Not as a crush. Not as a what if. Not as whatever they used to be.
She just misses her friend.
But she decides not to dwell on it. He's happy. She should be glad he's happy.
