Abby was going for her morning jog through the Glades like she always does before work when she bumped into someone.

"Oh, I'm so sorry." Abby began, only to pause when she saw who it was and she had to stop her magic from surfacing.

"Ah, Abigail, it's been awhile." Doctor Thomas Blossom, the man who'd ruined her life, said as he composed himself.

"You son of a bitch." Abby said, since the man was the reason she'd lost her job and reputation.

"I didn't come here to cause problems." Thomas began only to have Abby slap him.

"Too bad, because you got one. You destroyed my life, got me fired from a job I loved and made it damn near impossible for me to find work at any hospital since you ruined my reputation." Abby said.

"Well that wasn't very nice. Don't you think you traumatized me enough when you attacked me?" Thomas asked, only to be slapped again.

"I think you have that backwards. You're the one who traumatized me when you sexually assaulted me and then, when I dared to defend myself, you ruined my career." Abby snapped, having to work hard to control her magic so she didn't kill him, not that it would be a bad thing, especially since she could probably use her magic to get away with it and lord knows the bastard deserved it, but this wasn't the way to get justice.

"Not according to what the medical board said." Thomas said.

"What the hell are you doing here, since there's no way this is a coincidence." Abby asked him angrily.

"I came to tell you that you need to get your attack dog Lance to back down, since I don't need the lawsuit her new firm just dropped on me." Thomas said, since Lance Gamble's first case was Sawyer vs. Blossom and Abby knew that Laurel was already pulling out every trick in the book to take Blossom down.

"Yeah, there's no way that's happening. Especially since you know that unlike the medical board, you can't bribe Laurel into dropping this, since not only does she have stronger morals than you, but her fiance's bank account is at least 3 times as large as yours, so you can't bully her the way you did everyone else. This case is not going away. I'm getting my life back and you are going down." Abby said, right as Thomas grabbed her arm.

"Just to be clear, that was not a request. This case is going away, one way or another." Thomas said as Abby struggled to get free from his grip and also tried to avoid using her magic, though it was becoming a losing battle.

Fortunately, someone else intervened.

"Let the lady go now." a male voice with a Brooklyn accent said and Abby looked up to see a latino man walking up to them.

"Stay out of this." Thomas said.

"Yeah I don't think so. Officer Rene Ramirez of the SCPD." Rene said as he held out his badge, causing Thomas to immediately release his grip on Abby, since he had enough legal trouble without giving a cop a real reason to arrest him.

"Beat it or get beaten. Your call." Rene said, since even though he was a police officer, right now he was technically off duty and he had no qualms about beating up guys who deserved it. Especially guys who assaulted women, since he'd lost his wife to a drug dealer who'd beaten her. Granted, Rene was going to leave her if she didn't get her act together soon, but still, it had left their daughter without a mother.

"Fine. But this isn't over." Thomas said as he stormed away.

"Thank you officer." Abby said as she rubbed her wrist slightly where Thomas had grabbed it.

"My pleasure ma'am." Rene said.

"Call me Abby please. That bastard's gonna get what's coming to him when he can't bribe his way out of the case that was dropped on him." Abby said smugly.

"If you need any witnesses, let me know, I'd be happy to testify on your behalf." Rene said.

"I'll keep that in mind, Officer Ramirez." Abby said.

"Please, call me Rene. If you ever need any help, here's my card." Rene said as he gave her his card.

"Thank you Rene. And since you gave me your number, it's only right that I return the favor." Abby said as she took Rene's phone and put her number in it.

"You should call me sometime. Not just about the case." Abby said with a smile as she resumed her jog.
