Oliver and Laurel were currently lying in bed in their room in the Queen Mansion and Laurel noticed the look on her husband's face.

"Oliver, what's going through your head?" Laurel asked.

"Just wondering if we're doing enough to help the city." Oliver said.

"What do you mean? Team Arrow is the only reason the city is still standing, you and Queen Consolidated make large donations to different charities all the time and there's your youth center, giving the children of the glades a safe place to get their lives together." Laurel reminded him.

"Maybe, but it doesn't feel like it's enough. Despite everything we've done, the city still needs saving and I'm starting to think that it needs more than just the Green Arrow to save it, since things need to change to fix the system itself." Oliver said.

"So what are you going to do about it?" Laurel asked, since she couldn't deny that he had a point.

"Well, it is an election year." Oliver said.

"Wait, are you thinking about running for mayor of Star City?" Laurel asked her husband.

"Would it be such a crazy thing if I was?" Oliver asked her.

"Once upon a time, yes, but now, no. I think that you are exactly the kind of mayor Star City needs, since you may not be a politician, but that's probably what makes you the most qualified, since you actually care about the city, not some agenda. You can help the city both as the Green Arrow and as Oliver Queen." Laurel said, since she thought it was a great idea.

"I'm sure I can convince the board to support me, not to mention I'm sure Bruce would be more than happy to sponsor my campaign, since there's a good chance that we're looking at a merger between Queen Consolidated and Wayne Enterprises, considering our families are merging with Thea and Helena's wedding." Oliver said.

"I can help you with the legal stuff, dad's your advocate with the SCPD and you already have a good reputation as a humanitarian, especially in the Glades. I think that this could really happen." Laurel agreed.

"The only issue is skeletons in closets. We'll need to work hard to keep my League activities hidden." Oliver said, since he needed to keep his identity as the Green Arrow a secret.

"I'm sure we'll find a way to do it. But when you win, you'll need to vet your cabinet thoroughly to make sure that you're surrounding yourself with people you can trust." Laurel said.

"Well, you could be my DA." Oliver said.

"Flattering, but I prefer the work I'm doing with Samantha at Lance and Gamble. Besides, being a prosecutor isn't really for me. I'd rather defend innocent people." Laurel said and Oliver nodded.

"Fair enough. But why don't we get some sleep tonight, since you especially need your rest and we both know that we're going to be awakened by an adorable little girl soon anyways." Oliver said and Laurel nodded as they both moved to lie down and get comfortable to go to sleep.

The next day, Oliver was sitting his office at Queen Consolidated, going over potential successors as the CEO of the company, since he'd already gotten the board to approve backing him running for mayor, but only if he could find a suitable replacement as the new CEO of Queen Consolidated run the company while he was also running for office.

"What exactly are you working on?" Curtis asked as he entered Oliver's office.

"The paperwork that will officially transfer control of Queen Consolidated to you. Naming you as my successor." Oliver said.

"What? Why would you need to do that?" Curtis asked.

"Because I'm planning on running for mayor, I'm going to need to hand over the day to day operations of Queen Consolidated for me and you're the only one who's qualified for the position that I trust to run the company." Oliver said.

"You're running for mayor?" Curtis asked.

"Yep. And that means that I need someone I can trust to run my family's company, since Thea's got no interest in it and my mother is still on probation and I doubt that her taking over would do much for our stock price since she's technically a convicted felon. Besides, I think it's time for some new blood to take over the company and based on what I've seen of your designs, you're the most qualified candidate, since you can take this company to new heights I'd never be able too, since I never wanted to be a businessman in the first place." Oliver admitted.

"Are you sure about this Oliver?" Curtis asked.

"I am. I had Laurel draw up the contracts personally." Oliver said.

"I'll sign it on one condition." Curtis said.

"And that would be?" Oliver asked.

"There's a clause in there that allows you to retake control of the company if you decide too." Curtis said.

"I've already had one added. Go ahead and let your lawyer take a look at the paperwork, but I need it signed and returned by the end of the week before I can announce my candidacy." Oliver said as he handed Curtis the paperwork.

"No problem, but like you said, I'm gonna have my lawyer take a look at this just to be safe before I sign anything." Curtis said.

"Another sign I made the right choice, since you're not rushing into anything." Oliver said as Curtis left his office.
