Oliver was currently in his office at Queen Consolidated, looking over the newest proposals on his desk, which included a proposal from Bruce Wayne regarding a potential merger between their companies, since they both knew that a different kind of merger between their families sooner or later, when his secretary, Sandra Hawke, who he knew was actually an undercover Argus agent assigned to shadow him by Lyla to help keep him safe, despite the fact that he had a former Argus agent and current Justice League member, Tatsu was his personal bodyguard, walked in.
"Mr. Queen, your wife is here to see you." Sandra said and Oliver couldn't help but roll his eyes, since Sandra's act was so obvious to someone trained to see through it like he was. Especially since he knew she knew his secret.
"Send her in. And you know that if I'm not in a meeting, you don't need to stop her from coming in. Though I have to admit, it would be entertaining to watch you try." Oliver said with a smirk as Laurel entered his office.
"I heard that and don't necessarily disagree, lucky for you." Laurel said as Oliver got up to kiss her.
"Hey you. What brings you by, since I doubt it's to leave your legal firm and take a job as a corporate lawyer here." Oliver said.
"No thank you. We spend enough time together working at our other jobs. But I have something important I need to tell you." Laurel said.
"What is it?" Oliver asked.
"You know how I haven't been feeling great the past few weeks?" Laurel asked.
"Laurel, that would be an understatement." Oliver said.
"Well, I had Abby give me a check up today to figure out what was wrong with me." Laurel said.
"And?" Oliver asked.
"You might want to sit down, because I have no idea how you're going to react to this, since I wasn't able to tell the first time." Laurel said and that was all Oliver needed to hear to piece it together.
"Laurel, are you pregnant?" Oliver asked her.
"Yeah, I am. Are you okay with that?" Laurel asked hesitantly, only to be pleasantly surprised when Oliver pulled her into his arms and kissed her before swinging her around the room.
"That's the best news I could get. I have a chance to be there for everything I missed with Jasmine. Including dealing with a pregnant you, since from what your sister, my sister, my mother, your parents and pretty much everyone else has said, you were kind of insane when you were pregnant with Jasmine." Oliver said and Laurel just rolled her eyes.
"In my defense, I had to figure out how I was going to handle doing the single mother thing. This time I don't, since you'll be there for every step." Laurel said.
"Yes I will. Which is why when we get closer to your due date, I'm gonna call Roy in from Bludhaven to have him cover for me as Green Arrow so that I can make sure that I don't miss the delivery. I missed Jasmine's birth, I'm not missing this kid's birth too." Oliver said.
"Good. But promise me that you won't hang up the hood forever, since while I'm hanging my mask for now, I have no plans on retiring my mantle for good anytime soon." Laurel said.
"Of course not. All you've done today is give me another reason to wear my hood. Another thing to fight for. A better future for both our kids." Oliver said.
"Good answer. Because as much as our family needs Oliver Queen, Star City needs the Green Arrow and it needs you to be the Green Arrow." Laurel said.
"I know. But anyways, I think I'm gonna punch out early so that we can both be home when the girls get home to tell them the big news." Oliver said.
"Are you hoping for a boy or a girl?" Laurel asked.
"I could care less. Just like how I don't care if either of them want to inherit the company when they're all grown up. I never understood why my dad kept trying to force it on me. Part of the reason I rebelled was because of how much he wanted me to do it. I want all our kids to choose their own paths. Not have their lives planned out for them." Oliver said.
"And that is just another sign that you're going to be a great father. Especially since you already are one, since all three of our girls adore you. But we do need to start thinking of names." Laurel said.
"I actually do have a name in mind if it's a boy." Oliver said.
"Okay." Laurel said.
"Robert." Oliver said and Laurel understood immediately.
"After your father." Laurel said.
"He wasn't perfect and I know that he made a lot of mistakes, but in a way, he made me who I am today." Oliver said.
"And I love it. How about this, if it's a boy, his name will be Robert Quentin Queen and if it's a girl, Mia Dinah Queen." Laurel said.
"Mia, short for Moira." Oliver said and Laurel nodded.
"After all, their grandparents. Mom's still annoyed that I didn't give Jasmine the family name, but this should keep her satisfied." Laurel said and Oliver nodded.
"Agreed. But now let's head home so we can tell our kids the big news and then worry about telling everyone else." Oliver said.
"It'll be easy once we tell the girls. They're the hard ones. Especially once Jasmine realizes that she won't be the baby of the family anymore." Laurel said.
"I know. But come on, let's go." Oliver said and Laurel nodded as they left the office.
