"Oliver." Quentin said when he saw his future son-in-law come rushing into the hospital.
"I came as soon as I got the call. Are they okay?" Oliver asked.
"Yeah, they're all just being checked over as a precaution, though Jasmine has not left her mother's side since it happened and Sara's got some of her FBI buddies standing guard in case those Bertinelli thugs come knocking." Quentin said.
"This was an incredibly risky move to make, considering how influential all the attack victims are. Daughters of a cop, one of them is an FBI agent and the wife of the head of the Star City division of the FBI and the other the fiance of one of the most powerful businessmen in the city." Oliver said.
"Tell me about it. God, you have no idea how much I wanna toss my badge in an alley and go beat the shit out of Bertinelli for even thinking about this. Attacking Laurel and Sara is bad enough, but my grandkids could've been killed." Quentin said.
"You're already embracing Artemis and Yolanda as your granddaughters?" Oliver asked, touched.
"I was surprised at first, but I can see just how much those girls fit into the family. Especially since I hear rumors that you and Laurel might be switching from fostering Yolanda to adopting her." Quentin said.
"We are considering it, after the wedding. Only reason we're not doing the same for Artemis is because she still has a mother who loves her. And once Paula's out and she's proven that she can be a responsible parent to Artemis, she'll go back to her." Oliver said.
"I do respect Paula for what she did for her daughter. I just hope that we can catch her ex-husband soon." Quentin said.
"Same here. But anyways, do we know anything about the guys who attacked the bridal shop?" Oliver asked.
"I got off the phone with my guys at the station right before you got here. All those guys are professionals and they all opted to chomp cyanide capsules embedded in their teeth to prevent themselves from being questioned." Quentin said.
"Damn it. Well, they can still be traced back to Bertinelli right?" Oliver asked.
"Just waiting on a warrant before we can bring him in." Quentin said.
"I don't know Quentin. Something about this feels bigger. Then again, I'm not a cop, so I could be overthinking it." Oliver said, though in reality, once everyone was back at the mansion and Sara and Ava had a whole army of Argus commandos guarding every inch of the place, he'd be paying a visit to Frank Bertinelli to turn him into a pin cushion until he got answers about what was really going on.
"Maybe." Quentin said, right as his phone rang.
"Lance. Frank, now's not a good time." Quentin said, speaking to his boss, Lieutenant Frank Pike.
"Quentin, I know you're at the hospital right now with your daughters, which is where you should be, but you should know that Officer Ramirez was shot by another member of the Bertinelli syndicate." Pike said.
"They're getting bold now. Is he alive?" Quentin asked.
"The paramedics got him stabilized and he's in an ambulance to Star City General now." Frank said.
"Thank god. How much longer till we get a warrant to take that bastard down?" Quentin asked.
"Judge Ramos is taking his sweet time on approving it." Pike said.
"What are the odds that Bertinelli is paying him to do that?" Quentin asked.
"Very high, but we can't prove it yet." Pike said.
"That bastard is going to get what he deserves and he's not getting out of it this time." Quentin said as he hung up.
