In Another World (AU)

She was a princess. He was a servant boy. They grew up together never minding these facts. They were friends. She could always be herself whenever with him, and he could always forget about their positions whenever with her. They grew closer and closer as time past. And finally, they realized they had fallen in love. But on the 16th birthday of the princess, the king and queen had introduced to her the prince of an allied kingdom, the one she would be bethrothed to. The prince was immediately taken by her, wishing more than anything to get to know her better. The servant boy watched them as they stroll through the gardens, feeling jealous but knowing he doesn't have a right to be. When the prince had gone, the princess went to her parents and tried to talk to them to get her out of the arranged marriage, but her father was adamant. He wouldn't listen to her pleas. So the princess went to the servant boy, asked him if they could just run away. But the servant boy refused. He rejected her. He had heard the conversations among the villagers. The kingdom is in great debt. This kingdom needed this marriage to survive. It was for the good of everyone. For the kingdom. For the princess. So the prince continued to visit the palace, continued pursuing the princess. And the princess saw the servant boy less and less. And then finally, it was the day of the wedding. And as the prince give his golden promise, the princess tried to stop her tears, wishing more than anything that it was the servant boy in front of her right now. And hiding by the shadows, the servant boy watched, wishing more than anything he was in another world where she was his.
