The First (Futuristic)

AN: -JaDine has four kids (so far, lols): (oldest to youngest) Charmaine, Malcolm, Roxis, Reine (which means Queen in French); YaNdre has one daughter: Jasmine

"We're home!" James Reid called as he entered his home. Behind him, Andre Paras said, "Finally," as he followed him in.

The two proceeded to the living room, straight to the couch where they both deposited their bags and flopped down. Andre had frequently visit Reid's house that he already consider it his second home.'

It had been a very tiring week for the both of them because of all the promotion they did for their latest movie together. But finally, it was already the start of their hard-earned rest.

The two looked up when they heard footsteps. Andre smiled when he caught sight of his wife, Yassi.

"We're back." Andre said, with a small grin.

Yassi smiled at both of them and said, "Welcome back." She then approached her husband and gave him a quick peck on the lips.

"The children are already asleep." She said, and then turned to James. "Nadine, too."

James nodded with a yawn. He wasn't surprised at what he heard. Nadine was on leave for the time being (at least until Charmaine's 1st birthday), so all she does all day is take care of their three children; two of them being hyperactive (especially Roxis, he might actually be ADHD for all they knew).

"Roxis?" James asked Yassi half-playfully, half-exasperatedly.

"Who else?" Yassi said, chuckling a bit.

James nodded in understanding and stood up with a groan.

"Well, you two should rest, too. Long day tomorrow." He told his friends. "I'll also call it a night."

"Kay..." Andre said tiredly, trying to stifle a yawn. "See you tomorrow."

"Good night." Yassi said as Andre took her hand and lead her to the guest room.

The two families had decided to spend the following day together and go to Ocean Park for a simple weekend trip for the kids.

Since Andre's and James' schedule were the same, and fortunately, Yassi's were free for the weekend (she had just finished filming a drama), Nadine suggested that Andre, Yassi and Jasmine just spend the night at their house so they could get an early head start the next day.

James heard the door to the guest room closed as he turned to his eldest's room. This was his daily routine. No matter how exhausting his day could be, it wouldn't be complete and he wouldn't let it end without him not checking on his kids. When he's away, he would at least call them to hear them say good night before sleeping.

As Charmaine was a very light sleeper, he made sure he made only very little noise. He stopped about a foot before her bed as to not wake her up. He smiled when he saw her fast asleep and hugging her Finn the Human plushie. It was actually his before, the first birthday present Nadine had given her. And ever since Charm was born, she'd been sleeping with the plushie besides her. She's very fond of it that her actual first word was, 'Fiii'.

He took another moment to look at her 7 years old, and then just as quietly stepped outside the room. He then turned to his boys' room and entered.

James wasn't very surprise when he saw Jasmine sleeping beside his eldest son. The two have been the best of friends since meeting each other when they were barely two.

He had to smile at how Malcolm's body was covering Jasmine's in a very protective way. Malcolm had always been mature for his age and seems to like taking care of others. He had even claimed, when Roxis was born, that he would protect his little brother with his life. Nadine had told James then not to let Malcolm watch shounen anime anymore. Not until he would be able to differentiate what's real and not, or at least, not alone.
