Woah, hold up kiddo. Why are you up?

Don't move so much, or you'll wake your Mom and she really needs some rest, you know. The fact that she hasn't even stirred is testament to that. I mean, you even woke me up.

What did your Mom said to make you calm? Right. She talks to you.

Well, I'm talking to you right now and... well, you're not moving anymore are you. Are you listening, angel?

Hmm, what do you want to talk about? Hmmm...

Do you wanna know how your Mom and I met? Well, where to start..?

Of course you know your Mom is an actress and singer... you do, right? Your mom's fans never leave me and your Mom alone. I'm sure you would have heard them... Er, have you? I just remembered your Mom mentioned your ears would take very long to develop. Can you hear me at all right now? But... your Mom wouldn't say she talks to you if you can't hear her yet.... Hmm, your ears are probably developed by now. Your mom checks things like that.

Anyway, your mom is an actress and singer. And she's quite famous and has lots of fans. And your dad, well, yeah, I'm quite famous as well, I guess.

So there's this show, Pinoy Big Brother. It's a reality show where several people would have to live together in one house for some time. It's a little hard to explain, but once you can, I'll let you watch the show. Your mom have a copy of mine somewhere in the house. Anyway, well, I won that reality show and that was when the door to entertainment industry opened for me. But it wasn't like I skyrocketed to stardom or anything like that. And that time, I wasn't even sure what I wanted to do.

It wasn't until I met your mom that everything looked up for me. We were introduced as a love team, and even now we don't know why, but everyone seems to love our tandem. And your mom... she became my inspiration to want something, my inspiration to build myself. She always believed in me, whatever happens, and she never fails to be there for me when I needed her. She became my best friend, my partner in crime.

And it was kinda funny cause it was probably just an experiment that they put us together but then it happened, and it felt right. It was like it was meant to happen. And that's how we ended up with each other.

I know I'm not really saying much details, and probably you're a little confused with my story, but maybe I'll tell you all about it when you're here. It's kinda hard to tell you right now since now that I'm thinking about it, I don't really know your mom's side of the story during that time. I'll ask her, then I'll tell you the whole story. 'Kay?

Are you still listening to me? Or have you fallen asleep--woah, that's a strong kick. You might wake up your mom!

Okay, seems she's still asleep. Seriously, kid, you aren't even here yet and you're already depriving me sleep. But that's okay. I'll do anything for you. I promise you that. I can't wait to see you. Come out as soon as you can, okay? Everyone wants to see you. All your aunts and uncles--your Aunt Lauren, especially, your grandparents, and of course me and your mom. Your mom wants you to be a boy, but I actually would want you to be a girl and look like your mom. Your mom is very beautiful and if you see her, you'd probably want to look like her, too.

We'll finally know your gender tomorrow... it's kinda late but your mom and I have been a little busy preparing everything before she can finally have her maternity leave. And I didn't want her to go to the doctor without me.

I wish you would be a girl... Well, at least I had wished before... but then Bret... Actually, your uncles are betting on that. Your Uncle Ivan thinks you're gonna be a boy while your Uncle Sam thinks you're gonna be a girl. Your Uncle Bret said he'd want you to be a girl but if he had a child he'd want it to be a boy because he doesn't want to experience having to marry off a daughter. That had effectively petrified me. Your mom actually laughed at me and told me not to think about it but how can I not, seriously?

Okay, let's not think about it.

I guess, in regards to your gender, I'll just agree with your Aunt Yassi. You can be a boy or a girl or anything you want to be as long as you're healthy. She said it would be wonderful if you get all the good parts of me and your mom. I don't get that though, your mom is perfect; there's no other part than good.

Hm, I wish I can already hold you. I'll tell you more stories... I'll sing you a song. Do you wanna know a secret? I've already made lots of songs for you and about you. I hope you'll like them. And I hope you'd come to love music too. I can teach you how to play the guitar or the piano and your mom can teach you how to dance.

You and your mom are the most important to me. I really can't believe I can love you so much as I do. I wanna meet you soon. Me and your mom, both.

Hmm, you're not moving anymore, have you fallen asleep?

James wasn't really surprise when he felt Nadine's hand on his nape. He first kissed her tummy before finally looking up to his completely awake wife.

"Did I wake you up?" He asked in that same soft voice he used when talking to her tummy.

"No..." She said with a smile. "He did." She gestured to her tummy.

"Or she." James automatically said. Nadine laughed.

"Or she." She amended. Nadine had woken up when James started talking about how they met. She had tried to feign sleep because she didn't want him to stop.

James moved back up the bed besides Nadine and Nadine moved closer to him.

"He or she already loves you..." She told him. "I think he or she was really listening to you."

James grinned. "Thank you, Naddie." He said.

Nadine looked at him in question but he just shook his head and wrapped an arm around her.

"I love you." He said. "Just as much as I love her." He added as he placed a hand on her tummy.

Nadine remembered what he said earlier.

"I really can't believe I can love you so much as I do."

She smiled and nuzzled to him.

"Or him." She said after a beat.

James laughed. "Or him." He repeated in surrender.

"And I love you, too."
