She knew he's tired. They both were. They've been working nonstop for the whole week--a whole month, even, it feels like. And they really only squeezed in this concert in their chaotic schedule because, hey, you need to have time with your loved ones.

She had told him to just go home, and rest even a little, but when he'd heard she and Zak was going to have some midnight snack, he'd practically threw his car keys at his sister and told them he would be coming with us, not even asking his siblings if they wanted to come to, or not.

James was the first to get on Zak's car, sitting at the back. Nadine was about to sit in front, but James had pulled her to the back with him. Zak had just laughed and said it was okay. Nadine talks about James enough for Zak to know that it was during these hours that James become hyper or moody and definitely clingy.

As Zak drove, James had leaned heavily on the car seat and for a while, kept quiet.

"You're tired." Nadine said after a beat.

"So are you." James said.

"I told you to just go home and rest." Nadine said.

"I'm hungry." James said with a shrug.

Nadine shook her head in amusement and exasperation.

They were quiet for a while again. And Nadine saw James' eyes starting to droop.

"You're barely awake." She said.

"I'm just bored." He reasoned, rather lamely.

"No, you're tired."

"Just keep me awake, then."

"Is that possible?"

James muttered something but Nadine didn't quite hear it.

"What?" She asked.

"Let's just keep talking." He said with a louder voice but Nadine is pretty sure that wasn't what he first said. But letting it go, she just asked.

"About what?"

James shrugged. "I don't know. You pick."

"Hmmm." Nadine sounded. "How about we play a game instead?"

James looked at her, interest peaked.

"Just a word game. We're just gonna talk, generally." She said.

"What? Like shiritori?" James asked.

"Something like that. You say a random word and then I'll say the first word that I thought of in relation to that word. Then you do the same. Get it?"

"Okay." James said with a nod, actually quite intrigued. "Ladies first."

"Pizza." Nadine said with a grin.

"Why am I not surprise?" James said with a chuckle. "Okay, cheese."

"Tom and Jerry." Nadine said with a laugh.

"Button." James said.

"Jollibee." Nadine said.

"Tito Dong." James said immediately. Zak couldn't help but chuckle.

"Tall." Nadine said. It was the first thing that came to mind.

"Andre." James said with a shrug.

"Zak." Nadine said, peeking at his cousin.

"Bret." James said after. Nadine looked at him in question.

He just shrugged and said. "I just remembered the rumor."

Nadine laughed and nodded.

"Adventure Time." She said, continuing with the game.

James then said, "Flinn." It was Finn and Flame Princess' ship name.

"Is that a word?" Nadine asked.

James shrugged. "It's the first thing that came to mind."

Nadine just nodded, letting it go. Then she smiled and continued their game. "If it's Flinn, then Love."

James kept quiet for a moment, and Nadine thought he must be thinking of a word. But then a smile slowly form from his lips and he said, "Naddie."

"What?" Nadine asked, thinking he was calling her.

"Love." James said. "Naddie."

Nadine gaped, finally grasping what he was saying. She couldn't help but asked once more, though. "Love?"

"Love." James said firmly.

Nadine felt her face heating up, but nevertheless didn't look away from James.

James just looked at her, waiting. And then finally, she said with a smile.

"James."

James grinned, now looking embarrassed as he scratch the back of his head.

He took her hands in his, and Nadine tried not to smile too much.

"Hey, guys, uhm, can we get out of the car now?" Zak hesitantly said. He had parked the car about fifteen minutes ago.
