Wassal's POV:
I carefully slid my hand out from beneath her and slipped out of bed without a sound. Moving silently, I opened the drawer and took out the paper pin I had placed there the night before. Quietly, I walked to her side of the bed. Her phone was resting just to her left.
I picked it up, never taking my eyes off her peaceful face. With steady hands, I unfolded the pin and inserted it into the SIM tray hole. The tray popped out with a soft click. I checked her face again—still asleep. Gently, I removed the SIM card.
I looked around for my shirt, then after a moment, I remembered she was wearing it. Walking over to the closet, I pulled out a new one and slipped it on. Then I stepped out into the lounge, where Dilawar was already waiting.
"Take this," I said, handing him the SIM.
"Yes, sir," he replied.
"This needs to be returned within an hour," I instructed firmly.
"Don't worry, sir," he reassured me.
I nodded and walked out of the lounge.
Inhaling the air sharply, I stared at the ceiling where a chandelier was casting dim golden light in the lounge. As I stared at it, her words echoed in my ears,
"I love you Wassal, I love you, I LOVE YOU!"
The way she wrapped her delicate arms around me. The way she kissed me...
Maybe I love you is just a word for her; it does not hold any true meaning for her. The way it holds for me. The way, it's hurting and healing my chest at the same time.
Nothing in the world can make Wassal Ali Kadar anxious, except Shinaya Wassal...
I sighed. She says I can trust her, but I know, the second I open up, she would be standing in the row of people against me, pointing fingers at me, betraying me...
That's why she will never know anything, I would never let her know, even if it takes anything.
A complete silence surrounded the house as no one was up except me.
And if she knows? A question pierced my thoughts.
I felt my body wrenched at the very moment.
Then I would never let her go!
I headed back to the room. But as soon as I entered, a wave of shock surged through me.
She was awake.
For a second, I froze—but quickly composed myself and walked toward her.
"Grana," I whispered softly, my fingers brushing her cheek.
She looked at me, her brow furrowed in confusion.
"You're up early," I said nonchalantly, hiding the chaos stirring within me.
Her frown deepened. "Where were you? I was worried," she murmured, her voice tinged with concern.
I gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "There was something urgent at the office, I had to pass some documents to Dilwar," I explained, maintaining a calm tone.
Her brow furrowed even more. "At this hour?" she asked, reaching for her phone, likely to check the time. I swiftly took her hand, stopping her. "Don't worry, it's all taken care of," I reassured her, squeezing her hand lightly.
She looked at me, still uncertain, but said nothing. I bit my lip, trying to suppress the tension. "You should go back to sleep now," I said softly, gently caressing her cheek with my thumb.
