Wilhelm waited impatiently outside the hospital ward in Berlin. Freida was in labour. Wilhelm had been witnessing the drills of the 95th Jagers led by Colonel Scharf when the news reached him. As Wilhelm had rushed away the Jager sof the 95th cheered in jubilatio, lifting their green picklehaube's in the air with their rifle-buts.

Wilhelm could hear the moans of pain coming from Freida in the other room, it made Wilhelm feel guilty for putting her through this. At that moment Felix and Gniesenau arrived, both in their ceromonial uniforms, Gniesenau's white and Felix's black.

"My Kaiser, how is the Empress?" Gniesenau asked.

"The doctors and nurses say everything is going well, but I am not so sure." Wilhelm worried. "But then again, I am a man, and know nothing of such matters." Both men hummed in agreement.

"She is an example to us all." Felix stated, the two agreed just as the doctor came through, the screams of Freida had been replaced by those of a child.

"Congratulations your majesty, the Empress has given birth to a baby girl." Wilhelm sighed in releif, and then went inside. He found Freida lying down, holding their baby girl in her hands.

"Ah my love, look, isn't she beautiful?" Freida asked affectionatly, looking away from the baby at her husband.

"She's wonderful darling." Wilhelm said, happily. "What should we call her?"

"I think you should name this one." Freida stated, handing their daughter over to him.

"This one?" Wilhelm questioned, rocking the baby slightly as she giggled.

"Well I think we should have a couple more." Freida said, this stunned Wilhelm. He started to object, saying he did not want to put her through any more pain. "Wilhelm, what if our daughter were to die? Who would be your heir, one of your brothers?" Freida questioned, Wilhlem sighed. He didn't want any of his brothers to ruin the Germany that he had created, not even Zerrin, he was needed in Visea. "Plus, it is my desire to have more children. They will bring us joy, and to the Empire as well."

"If that is your wish my dear." Wilhelm aquiessed. "I think we shall name her Erica."

"Erica. I like that, that is a strong name for the future Empress. I trust there is no problem with having a female heir? I presume that is what Herr Hauptmann and Herr Gniesenau are looking at eachother for?" Wilhelm stared daggers into them, both men gulped before Wilhelm looked back to his wife.

"Boy or girl, Emperor or Empress, I will love them all the same. It is of little concern to me that my heir be a male, just as long as I have one." Wilhelm said, Freida smiled, glad that Wilhelm was pleased. At that moment Hilde came in.

"My Kaiser and Kaiserin, congratulations, the Empire has an heir, and you: a dynasty." Hilde congratulated profusely.

"Thank you minister," Wilhelm said as he handed Erica back to Freida, "I suppose you want permission to publish the news? I presume that is why you are here?"

"With your permission your majesty." Hilde asked. Wilhelm gave his assent with a nod, and Hilde clicked her heels.

"When Freida has recovered, we shall appear on the balcony of the Wilhelmstrasser, do the waving and I will do a small speech." Wilhelm ordered, Hilde nodded before withdrawing from the room.

"Your new heir will usher in a new golden age for Germany." Felix congratulated. "But then again, when haven't we been devasted by an economic calamity or military putsch?"

"There's always time Chancellor. I am willing to accept Germany is the new superpower on the continent, but we musn't be complacent. Undestood?" Wilhelm inisted, Felix and Gniesenau clicked their heels and bowed their heads.
