Everly's POV
I was in the music studio rehearsing for an audition I have soon. Dad walked past carrying Maisy, then retraced his steps and walked in.

"Ev! Ev!" Maisy squealed, shaking around the sensory toy in her hand.

"Hi Maisy." I waved.

"Hey Ev. What you working on?" He asked.

"My audition song." I told him, pausing the music.

"Ah, so you decided to go for it with the Disney channel offer?" Dad smiled.

"No, actually. I realised I'm probably not the Disney channel personality they're looking for. I'm too much like mom." I laughed lightly.

"There is that." Dad agreed with a laugh.

"The audition is for Dear Evan Hansen with the teen production company I worked with before. I'm auditioning for Zoe." I explained.

"That's really cool. I'm so proud of you." Dad hugged me and kissed my head.

"Thanks dad." I smiled.

"Now me and Maisy are going to be making snacks in a minute. Do you want one?" Dad asked, bouncing Maisy on his hip.

"No thanks. I'll come downstairs in a bit anyway. Carrie said she'd make me an iced latte but that was like forty minutes ago." I rolled my eyes and he laughed.

"Well if you change your mind just shout." Dad said and walked out.

I carried on practicing my song until mom walked in.

"She was working in a bridal shop in Flushing, Queens
Til her boyfriend kicked her out in one of those crushing scenes
What was she to do? Where was she to go?
She was out on her fanny..." mom sang.

"Can you fixate on a new song please?" I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Sorry, kid. No can do." Mom said in a weird man voice. "You look busy."

"I was." I laughed.

"Don't let me stop you. I just popped in for the keyboard charger." Mom said quietly and picked up the charger.

"What for?" I asked.

"Jake wants to learn Broken Glass on keyboard." Mom rolled her eyes and I laughed.

"Well Carrie knows guitar for it so they could invite Matt in for his harmonica solo and have a little performance." I joked.

"Don't tempt fate." Mom sighed and I grinned. "You sound beautiful by the way."

"Thanks mom." I smiled.

She kissed my head and then walked out. I continued practicing for a while longer and then went downstairs. It was a little quieter around the house but I found Ari in the kitchen.

"Morning Tesoro." Ari smiled, slicing up watermelon.

"Hey. It's quiet today." I said, sitting on one of the breakfast bar stools.

"Taylor, Rose and Lottie are with Dalton for the day." Ari told me, sliding me a plate of watermelon.

"Thanks. Are they coming back tonight then?" I asked.

"I didn't really get a solid answer." Ari groaned.

"He still being an ass?" Matt asked, walking in from the garage.

"A bit, yeah. What have you been doing?" Ari asked him after they briefly kissed.

"Michael and Maisy are building the sand table for the backyard and I thought I'd offer my services." Matt grinned.
