Everly's POV
I'm sitting in the kitchen with Carrie eating cookies and watching Tik Tok. Ari walks in.
"What are you girls doing?" Ari asks.
"Hey Ari, we're really holding space for Defying Gravity right now." I say.
"I didn't know that was happening." Carrie says.
"That's really powerful." I say.
"Oh shut up." Ari waves us off.
"We love you, Ari!" We hug her.
"Mhm. Sure you do." Ari rolls her eyes.
Dad walks in carrying Maisy.
"Ev!" Maisy squeals.
"Hi!" I smile.
"What are you guys doing in here? You're supposed to be walking the dogs before Liz gets home with the boys." Dad says.
"We've got ages." I shrug.
"Are those cookies vegan?" Ari asks.
"No, they have sugar in." Carrie says.
"Who's gonna tell her?" Dad laughs.
"Carrie, sugar isn't dairy. The cookies are vegan." I laugh.
"Michael! I need help getting my suitcase out of the garage!" Matt yells from the living room.
"That's nice." Dad grins.
"Michael!" Matt yells.
"Okay, okay. I'll help." Dad passes Maisy to me and I hold her on my lap.
"Why's dad getting his suitcase?" Carrie asks Ari.
"He's leaving for L.A. tomorrow." Ari says.
"What, again?" Carrie frowns.
"Christmas has only just finished." I say.
"Christmas was over almost two weeks ago, girls." Ari laughs. "And he's only going for five days."
"Five days?!" Carrie gasps.
"I tried to get out of it, Goldie. I'm sorry." Matt says walking in and kissing Carrie's hair.
"I know you tour a lot, dad, and it's your job and everything, but I miss you." Carrie pouts.
"I miss you too, Carrie. We have tonight together and we'll all have a movie night or something. I promise." Matt hugs her.
"Okay. Can we watch Wi-"
"We are not watching Wicked again." Mom says walking in. "Ari, dingus, honey, I love you to bits but we've watched that movie twice a week since it premiered."
"I'm with you, Liz. It's these two you gotta have the conversation with." Ari points to me and Carrie and we just smile.
"These two, who I gave a list of jobs to do while I was out and all they've done is make cookies. Which wasn't on the list." Mom says looking between us.
"They're not vegan, they've got sugar in. Apparently." I joke, looking at Carrie.
"So don't eat them, Liz. Because you'll die." Carrie says seriously.
"Did you two fools at least take the dogs for a walk?" Mom asks.
"Umm... we didn't really get that far on the list." I say slowly.
"I sense trouble..." dad chuckles.
"Michael!" Mom snaps.
"Yes dear?" Dad grins.
