Everly's POV
Carrie and I walked into the kitchen to see Matt standing with Carrie's mom, Tracey.
"Hello darling. I tried to message you." Tracey smiled, waving to Carrie.
"I know. I had to block you on every messaging platform." Carrie rolled her eyes.
"That's no way to talk to your mom, is it." Tracey chuckled.
"What are you even here for?" Carrie asked her.
"Carrie, I'm really sorry." Matt shook his head and sighed.
Tracey grinned and opened her arms out for a hug. "I'm here to take you home."
"You're delusional if you think I'm going anywhere with you. I wouldn't meet up with you at the park, what makes you think I'd be willing to move in with you?" Carrie ranted.
"We're family, Carrie. We share blood. That's the most important thing." Tracey said.
"No, it isn't. The only person in this house who I share blood with is Dad. And everyone else treats me like family. More than you do." Carrie pointed out.
"I will not be spoken to like this, Carrie. Tell me, where have you gotten all this attitude from?" Tracey sighed.
"What is going on?" Mom walked in.
"Oh, that's where." Tracey rolled her eyes.
"Liz, what happened? I asked you to keep Carrie away." Matt asked.
"I've only just switched my phone on, Matt. I'm sorry." Mom apologised, standing at his side.
"Look at you, cuddling up to my boyfriend." Tracey scoffed.
"Actually, my boyfriend." Ari said, walking in.
"Really, Matthew? You could do a lot better." Tracey laughed.
"For your information, I've been a great girlfriend and a great mother figure to your daughter." Ari raised her eyebrows.
"Yeah I'm sure. Throwing money at a kid doesn't mean shit." Tracey said.
"She does more than that. So does Liz." Carrie said quickly.
"It's because they're trying to take you away from me, darling. But if they knew what's good for them, they would have let me take over." Tracey said slowly, walking closer to Ariana.
"What do you want from me?" Ari asked.
"A daughter needs her mother, not a sloppy home wrecker like you." Tracey said and Ari took a step back.
"I wasn't brilliant, in the beginning. It took us some time to settle but I love Carrie. We all do. And it's a real shame you can't see that." Ari shrugged. "But I guess that's the difference between a mother and an alcoholic failure like yourself."
"What did you just say to me?!" Tracey yelled, grabbing Ariana's arm.
"Raise a hand to anyone in this house and I will have the police here so fast you won't believe it." Matt warned, taking Tracey's hand off of Ari's arm and moving Ari to stand with mom.
"We were such a good couple, you and me, Matt." Tracey smiled, running her hand through Matt's hair.
"Get off me, Tracey." Matt sighed as her hand travelled down his chest.
"Oi, slag, that's my boyfriend!" Ari yelled.
"Ari, don't start that." Mom whispered.
"Liz, I'll start whatever I... hang on, where's Carrie?" Ari asked, looking around the room.
