Mom called a family meeting so I go into the dining room and see everyone sat around the table.
"This looks formal." I say, sitting next to Dalton.
"I know." Dalton says.
"I hate it." Jake says.
"There's no time for us but you can still escape, Everly! Save yourself." Carrie whispers to me.
"Very funny, Carrie." Mom rolls her eyes.
"Does anyone know what this is about?" Teagal asks.
"I do." Dad says.
"It feels impwortant." Taylor says from where he's sat on Matt's legs.
"I think it is." Ariana says while gently rocking Rose in her arms.
"Well, I'm glad you're all here." Mom starts.
"Ohhhh, this really is formal." I say.
"At least we don't have any pamphlets or folders this time." Carrie says.
"That's always a bummer." Teagal says.
"I know what you mean, kid." Dalton chuckles.
"I wouldn't speak too soon, I think there are definately a few paper files to be handed out." Dad laughs.
"Ah, man." Ariana groans.
"Liz, you have a serious organisation obsession. Like, serious." Matt says.
"I'm aware, it's concerning. Sign me up to a support group, I don't care, but can I please get back to my news?" Mom says.
"Sure." Matt says.
"Basically, I needed to tell everyone something very important and getting us all together seemed the best way to do that." Mom says.
"We know it's important. It's never a family meeting unless it's really really important." I say.
"I'm actually worried." Carrie says.
"Can I go play with my trucks now?" Jake asks.
"Me too! I'm bored already." Teagal groans.
"In a second, babies." Mom says softly.
"There's a weird atmosphere in here." Ariana says, shivering.
"Kinda like the time Liz was reading tweets from Maddison." Carrie smirks.
"That was a bad day." Dad says.
"Or the time when-" Matt starts but Mom cuts him off.
