The playoff game between Teiko and Kamata West will now begin.

Bow!

"Let's have a good game!"

"This is the last game."

Akashi spoke to his team, "If we win, we're champions for the second year in a row. Do you have anything to say?"

Midorima didn't seem fazed at all, "I'll make as many threes as I can. That's all."

Aomine seemed more bored than ever, "Nothing, really."

Murasakibara just hummed, "Let's finish this quickly so I can have more snacks."

Kise was the only one who was a little taken aback by their behaviour: "You guys are all over the place!"

The captain held a small smile, "It doesn't matter. Our team brings those scattered personalities together."

"We only need one thing in common."

"Let's win!"

"Yeah!"

Momoi glanced over at you and Kuroko and noticed the tension. But she mostly concentrated on you, realizing how puffy your eyes are.

You, on the other hand, couldn't keep your anger in check, it pained you to see your friend be like this. But you had to listen to the coach. If Aomine needed some consolation, you'd provide it when he needed it.

The first quarter finished and Teiko was already in the lead by at least a digit.

The coach went up towards the ace, "Aomine. Hang back a bit."

They sat down together, as the elder coughed before speaking, "I need to apologize to you."

"I realized immediately you possessed incredible talent. That you loved basketball more than your peers, too," he noticed.

"I knew this would happen if your talents blossomed," Coach Shirogane stated, "I knew, but I said nothing. I couldn't say anything."

He looked up at the ceiling as Aomine looked forward, "My desire to see your talents blossom was greater than my consideration for your feelings."

"I'm sorry, but please don't waste that talent," the coach encouraged him after apologizing.

This shocked the ace, "What...?"

"Your problem can't be resolved immediately, but it may be eventually. Don't give up," he told the student.

"I can't guarantee anything, but you'll have nothing left if you give up," Coach Shirogane stated.

His words felt like a flash of déjà vu for Aomine, "Hey, that's—" he couldn't finish when the coach stood up.

"Yes, I stole it," the elder confirmed.
