Serena's P.O.V

I looked over to the side to find my phone next to me and finally convinced myself to text Ash, so I picked up my phone and started to text him.

"Is it alright if I come over right now to do the project?" I texted.

I waited about another 5 minutes or so until he texted back, "Sure."

"Where do u live?" I asked.

"Not to far from your house-" and then he sent me the address.

He was right. My house was just about two blocks away from his.

I texted back, "K I'll be right there."

I then set my phone back down next to me and grabbed my backpack. I then headed downstairs to the smell of pancakes and eggs, making my mouth water.

"How many pancakes do you-" My mom turned around. "Why are do you have your backpack? You do realize that it's Saturday right?"

"What? Oh- yeah." I looked down at my backpack in my hands. "I'm supposed to go over to a friends house today to work on a project." I said, setting down my backpack and started to eat my breakfast that was sitting down on the kitchen table.

I honestly didn't know what it'll be like at Ash house. I wonder what it looks like. Apart of me is telling me to to not be too excited, but I can't help myself. I'm more excited then I've ever been in a while.

"Who? Wait, let me guess..." My mom put her hand to her chin and looked up at the ceiling. "Dawn?"

I shook my head back and forth as I set my head down on the palm of my hand, knowing that she wasn't going to guess Ash.

"May?" She asked.

"No, she's in Florida. I won't be seeing her until summer or 12th grade."

"Hm... Iris?"

"Nope."

"Misty?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Uh uh."

"I can't think of anyone else..." My mom said, her expression changing to show that she was pondering as she placed her hand down on the corner of the counter. "Calem?"

"No."

"Well then who?"

I sighed as I started to play with my eggs with my fork. "Ash."

"Ash? Wasn't that the boy who moved?" She questioned, her eyes widening.

"Yes. He moved back." I looked out the window, the clouds covering the whole street in a dim shadow, me now finding that I wasn't hungry anymore.

"Moved back?" My mom asked in disbelief.

All of a sudden I got this feeling in my stomach telling me to get out of the house.

"Yeah." I jumped out of my seat from the kitchen table, pulling my backpack back over my shoulder and headed towards the front door.

"Wait! You're leaving right now!?" My mom exclaimed, setting down a plate of pancakes that was in her hand.

"Yes. I hope you don't mind."

"But you didn't even finish you eggs or touched the pancakes." My mom frowned.

"Sorry, I'm just- not that hungry right now." I said, opening the front door and walked out, closing the door behind me.

Ash's P.O.V

I heard my phone vibrate on the table next to me and opened my eyes, my eyes still trying to focus on my surroundings.

I rubbed my eyes and looked over in the direction of the sound of my phone. I saw that it was starting to slide off the table as it vibrated until it was finally right on the edge of it.

"Eh-" I reached out to grab it, but instead I fell off the bed and landing on my head.

"Agh!" I landing on the floor, a stinging pain rushing up to my head.

I then looked back above me and saw my phone tilting back and forth towards the ground and started to slip off the edge of the desk. "Wait!" I exclaimed as I watched my phone fall towards me, getting bigger and bigger, until I finally felt another stinging pain spread throughout my forehead from my own phone.

"Ow." I said, my phone skidding down off my face to the ground next me as my eyelid twitched.

I looked to the side and saw Chu watching me, its tail slowly wagging side to side as it tilted its head.

"What are you looking at?" I asked, my eyebrows narrowing.

I then stood back up and rubbed my head, my forehead still stinging from the impact of my own phone. And this is what I get for getting another phone.

I looked back down at my phone and saw that someone texted me, so I picked it up and saw that it was Serena, my heart lifting up a bit as I went to my messages.

She asked, "Is it alright if I come over right now to do the project?"

I then my heart fall back down slightly and texted back, "Sure."

"Where do u live?"

"Not to far from your house-" I replied and then sent her my address.

She then texted back, "K I'll be right there."

I threw my phone back up to my bed and sighed.

Chu walked up to me, so I petted it, Chu purring as I did.

"Do you think Serena- cares about me?" I asked, as if expecting an answer from Chu.

All Chu did was look up at me and meow.

I smiled. "Yeah, I guess I didn't exactly to know the answer to that either." And stood back up.

I walked over to my closet and grabbed my clothes and changed which took about 10 minutes, putting on my hat last. I looked at myself in the mirror, hoping that I looked okay when I heard the doorbell ring.

I jumped up as I scrambled down the stairs and towards the front door. Once I reached the front of the house, I looked out a window that gave me the view of the porch and saw Serena standing there, waiting.

I felt my heart quicken for some reason, making my palms sweaty even though I was wearing gloves as I got ready to turn the doorknob.

It took me awhile, but I finally got the courage to swing the door open.

"Hey." Serena smiled one of her smiles that made me feel like I was walking on air.

"Hey." I smiled back.

"So... you have PowerPoint right?" She asked.

"Yeah. I have it on my laptop."

"You have a laptop?" She asked.

"Well- it's kinda my mom's, but I'm the only one who actually uses it, so I consider it mine." I sweat dropped, rubbing the back of my head.

Serena giggled a bit and then walked into the house, looking around.

All of a sudden Serena yelped slightly, making me jump a bit.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"Oh." Serena sweat dropped as she looked down at her feet, Chu walking around her, giving her a cat hug as he purred. "It's just Chu." She laughed and then knelt down to pet him. "I haven't seen you in forever!" Serena smiled as she continued to pet Chu.

I grinned as I watched Serena, but then found myself frowning, realizing that she didn't feel the same way I did about her and that she had those feelings for Alain, not me.
