It's been a quiet few days since my talk with Lwandle, and I have been enjoying the silence. My mind hasn't been a loud ruckus, and I'm grateful for that because it means that I can focus on other things that require my attention. Like cleaning up my house and preparing a delicious meal for the men in my life.
They've been checking in on me and making sure that I am alright both physically and mentally. I appreciate it and love them more for that. I've got two days left of my off-days at work, and today I decided to cook up a storm.
Thankfully, everyone will be available to come over tonight, for the first time in a long while, our time off work has fallen on the same week (Rhys, Ben and me). Grayson is someone who works from home most of the time, so he confirmed that he would arrive earlier than Ben and Rhys.

"Girl, everything tastes so delicious!" Ben exclaims.
I can't help the smile that almost splits my face in two, "Thank you, sweetheart."
I made a simple meal: lemon, honey, garlic lamb chops, with buttery mashed potatoes and a carrot and cucumber salad. For dessert, we're having apple crumble cheesecake.
Gray playfully nudges my shoulder. My smile widens. He makes me so happy. I was happy before hi,m but damn, he really adds on to it.
We catch up on work stuff and life in general. It feels like old times, when I had no idea that the woman who gave birth to me was actually living in the same town as me. Tonight, I ignore her interfering presence and enjoy my night with my loved ones.
Ben and Gray clean up and wash the dishes after we're all fed and satisfied. Rhys and I sit on the couch, mindlessly scrolling on our phones.
"I'm thinking of doing it next week." He softly states.
My mind fully catches on to what he's saying. The proposal.
I turn away from the small screen in my hand to look at him. He nibbles on his bottom lip, seeming anxious.
My hand reaches for his, and our fingers intertwine, "Babe, for real?"
He nods, his lips tilt into a smile that mirrors the one threatening to split my face in two. I'm so excited for him and Bentley. I know Ben will lose his mind when Rhys gets on one knee.
"Do you need help with anything?"
Once again, he nods, "I need you to take him shopping on that day. I've already checked your schedule, so it'll be the perfect time."
We will be on night shifts next week, so Ben and I can go shopping after we've both gotten a few hours of sleep. Ben will then be off for the weekend.
"Friday night, I'm going to propose." He further explains his plan. While I'm keeping Ben busy with a retail spree and a full manicure and pedicure, Rhys will be handling the venue and catering for their romantic dinner.
My heart melts at how meticulous he is with all the details. I'm so happy for both of them. They truly deserve their happily ever after.
I squeeze his hand comfortably, "Everything will work out well. Trust me.
His arm wraps around me, and he pulls me closer to him for a hug. I deeply inhale the delicious scent of his cologne.
"Trying to steal my girl, Rhys?"
Grayson stands by the counter, a lazy grin tugs at his lips. Rhys chuckles and kisses my forehead, "Wouldn't dream of it," he winks at him.
I'm so glad to have such people in my life. Best friends who are always there for me and a man that I am falling so hard for.
