GRAYSON POV:
The alarm is set for six, but I'm awake before it goes off. I've been awake for a while actually—lying in the dark, listening to her breathe, feeling the warmth of her body curled against me. The clock on the nightstand glows at 5;47 AM. Thirteen minutes until the alarm.
I watch her sleep.
Her face is relaxed, peaceful. The lines of tension that usually linger even in rest are smoothed away. Her lips are slightly parted, and her braids are covered by a cute Hello Kitty-themed bonnet. One of her hands was tucked under her cheek, while the other rested on my chest, right over my heart.
She's beautiful.
The thought is simple, true and insufficient. Beautiful doesn't even cover it. She's everything. She's the answer to a question I didn't know I was asking. She's the reason I wake up smiling. Thandi is the woman who makes me believe in forever.
I don't know how I got so lucky. I don't know what I did to deserve her. But I know I'm never letting her go.
The clock ticks to 5:52. I shift slowly, carefully easing out from under her hand. She murmurs something in her sleep, and she reaches for me. I press a kiss to her forehead. "I'm right here," I whisper. "Go back to sleep."
She settles, and I slide down the bed, pulling the covers back just enough to reveal her body. She stirs but doesn't wake. I kiss higher, trailing my lips along her skin, feeling the heat of her. I push the shirt up, exposing her stomach, and I kiss the soft skin just above the waistband of her underwear.
She's not wearing panties.
The discovery makes my pulse quicken. This is a gift I didn't expect.
I part her legs gently, settle between them, and look at her. She's already wet. The sight of her like this—soft and open and trusting—makes my heart ache.
The first touch of my tongue makes her gasp. Her hips jerk, her hands flying to my hair and griping tight. She's still half-asleep, but her body knows what it wants. Her legs fall open wider, making more room for me.
"Gray—" Her voice is thick with sleep, but rough with desire.
I hum against her, and she shudders.
I take my time. I learnt early on that Thandi needs patience. She needs to be coaxed out of her head and into her body. So I start slow. Gentle. Circles and strokes. Light and teasing touches that make her gasp and squirm.
She's so responsive. Every flick of my tongue makes her moan. Every time I suck gently, she arches off the bed. My hair is tangled in her fingers, which pull, push, and guide me where she wants me.
"Please," she begs, and the word is broken. "Please let me come."
I look up at her through my lashes. She throws her head back, squeezes her eyes shut, and parts her lips. She's so beautiful it hurts.
"You can come," I tell her, my voice low. "I want you to."
I press my tongue against her clit, and she shatters.
I feel her orgasm ripple through her—the clench of her inner muscles, the shudder of her thighs, the broken cry of my name. I work her through it, gentling my touch but not stopping, drawing out every last tremor.
When she goes limp, I crawl up her body and kiss her. I feel her relax into the kiss.
"One down," I murmur. "Two to go."
