Ueno-Nishida
上野-にしだ
In the dimly lit sitting room of the estate, the air was thick with tension. the walls, adorned with dark tapestries and antique weapons, seemed to hum with the ghosts of old battles. a heavy silence hung in the room as the two wives of the Yakuza patriarch, Nishida Kenzo, founder of the Ueno-Nishida clan, stood across from each other.
The first wife, Yumi Tanaka, was a sharp-eyed woman, her face hardened by years of ambition. Her black kimono clung tightly to her form, a symbol of her strong, unyielding character. She's one of the daughters of the Tanaka-Ozawa clan, one of the rivals of her husband. their marriage was supposed to appease both warring families, yet, the bloody fights over dominion seems to have worsen rather than subside. her son, Haruto, stood by her side: tall, but soft-spoken, and obsessed with the arts. His presence contrasted sharply with the cutthroat atmosphere his mother had fostered. He played the shamisen in the evenings, his hands caressing the strings as if they were the very veins of his heart. He was nothing like his father, Kenzo, who had built the empire from blood and iron.
The second wife, Kaori, was the picture of quiet elegance. She was reserved, her demeanor graceful but purposeful. a stark contrast to Yumi's aggression, Kaori kept her eyes low, her expression composed. the daughter of the now ruined Osaka clan, the war trophy Kenzo had won after he slaughtered her entire kin. She was only sixteen when he took her, she was ten years a junior to his first wife. Her son, Takeshi was still a boy, eleven years of age; but his eyes betrayed an intensity far beyond his years. He had inherited his father's coldness, his ruthlessness, and perhaps something even darker.
one time, he murdered his own cat because it scratched his leg. He tied the poor feline on it's tail.... and ripped its body with one of the katana his father owns. The underboss saw what he did and reported to the Kaiju.
The Kaiju nodded. then his eyes glinted with malice. He now has set his eyes on the boy; His heir.
but then Yumi's voice broke the silence, sharp and unforgiving.
"Kenzo's legacy belongs to Haruto, not that weakling son of yours!" Her voice was filled with venom, her hand gesturing sharply to Takeshi, who stood quietly in the corner. "He has no place in this world of power. My son is the only one worthy to lead the clan."
Kaori's response was measured, but her lips tightened. She didn't argue openly. Instead, she kept her voice soft but firm.
"only time will tell, Yumi. the clan needs strength... but not just the kind you imagine. true power comes from within. Haruto... he is a gentle soul, but my son is the one who will lead with honor." She looked at her son, whose cold eyes never wavered from his mother's side. "Takeshi's heart is strong. Kenzo will see that soon enough."
Yumi scoffed, stepping forward, her voice rising.
"Honor? The world doesn't care about honor. It cares about power! do you really think your son will inherit anything when the time comes?" She glared at Kaori, her eyes flashing with contempt. "Kenzo needs a successor who can make decisions, not a child who still holds on to the fabric of his mother's kimono!"
