Asher Hart, Hawkins resident psychopath. There wasn't that many people who hadn't heard about Asher and his family, and that wasn't in a good way. But after helping Dustin out with Dart which led to Asher making new friends, he started to change for...

Like everyday, Asher had shown up to see Max. It was apart of his daily routine. There wasn't really much else he did, but this had became his favourite part of the day. He didn't really say much today; he didn't have anything to say. All he did was sit there, with the boombox he constantly brought, playing Running Up That Hill on repeat. It probably wouldn't work, but if that song helped Max when she was cursed by Vecna, then maybe there was a chance that it would wake her up. But, that was only a hope.
After visiting Max, Asher would normally go and visit Eddie's grave. He missed is best friend more than he could even say, especially since Eddie's death is practically his fault. If Asher had went with Dustin and Eddie, maybe Eddie wouldn't be dead right now. Maybe Asher could have saved him; but they would never know, because Asher chose to go with Max instead, and he couldn't even save her.
As Asher makes his way to the graveyard, he keeps his head down, not wanting to catch the attention of anyone else. No one really gave him any attention anymore, but he didn't want to be caught up in any unnecassary conversations. But, the thing that raised his head was the sound of someone screaming.
Now, whenever Asher goes to see Eddie, there isn't normally anyone there. But, seeing Dustin there, surrounded by four people in matching Hawkins letterman jackets, Asher knew he had to do something. Even though he told Dustin to leave him alone, he wasn't just going to stand there and let him get hurt.
"Hellfire dies with you, Henderson" Andy says, grabbing Dustin by the face as Asher gets closer to them.
"Don't think so" Asher quickly says, making Andy turn around, giving Asher just enough time to punch him in the face, causing Andy to go completely off balance, making the other three jocks let go of Dustin, focusing their attention on Asher.
Unlike Dustin, Asher could handle himself in a fight against a group of people. He had done it so many times, it was like clockwork to him. He had put up a pretty good fight. Yeah, he did end up with a cut on his lip, and a bruise on his eye that would probably hurt for the next few days, but at least he looked a lot better than everyone else that surrounded him.
"You ever come near him again, and I'll kill every single one of you" Asher says to the four with a glare before turning around, looking down at Dustin "You good?"
"I had it handled" Dustin bluntly says to Asher, who holds out his hand to help Dustin stand up as the four jocks start walking away.
"Yeah, looked like it" Asher sarcastically says as Dustin slaps his hand anyway "Jesus fuck, man! I just saved your ass, so why don't you stop being a dick."
"Why do you care? Like you said, we're not brothers, right?" Dustin asks with a scoff as he goes to stand, but stumbles in the process.
"Whoa, watch it" Asher says, holding onto Dustin to stabalise him "I know what I said, but I wasn't going to stand by and let you get the shit beaten out of you."
Looking at Dustin, all Asher could see was a younger him. Reckless, starting fights that could easily be avoided and anger being the only emotion in his eyes. Asher didn't know what had happened since the last time he saw Dustin, but what he did know was that Asher didn't like it. He has always wanted Dustin to be better than he ever could be, not for Dustin to end up just like him.
"Look who's taking the high moral ground now" Dustin mutters out with a scoff "Didn't know you had it in you."
"Yeah, and I didn't think you were that stupid to pick a fight that you know you can't win" Asher tells Dustin "You're lucky that I showed up before they actually did kill you."
"My saviour" Dustin sarcastically says "What would I do without you?"
"What's gotten into you?" Asher asks, making Dustin scoff "Seriously, when did you turn into an ass?"
"I don't know" Dustin bluntly says to Asher with a shrug "Maybe when someone I cared about died, or maybe it was when someone I called my brother decided I wasn't worth his time anymore. Someone who I idolized for years said he wanted nothing to do with me. Maybe it was that."
"I didn't mean it in that way" Asher mutters out.
"Then what way did you mean it?" Dustin asks Asher, who stays silent, before Dustin looks down at his watch "Shit, I'm late."
"Late for what?" Asher asks, being confused.
Since he hadn't spoken to anyone in over a year, he didn't know that they were doing whatever possible to find Vecna. Asher, however, had been coming up with his own plans to kill Vecna himself, but that was pretty hard to do since the military was practically everywhere right now. Getting into the Upside Down on his own would be a lot harder than he thought it would be.
"You really don't know?" Dustin asks, making Asher shake his head.
Dustin thought for a bit. He could either not say a single thing to Asher, letting him go on with his life without being involved in any of this anymore, or he could catch him up on everything, making sure Asher has a chance to get revenge on his father. But, just like Asher, Dustin felt guilty, but for a different reason.
He was the reason that Asher even got involved in all of this in the first place.
If Dustin never asked Asher for help with his Dart problem, Asher wouldn't have ever known about the lab, about Eleven, about the Upside Down. Maybe if Dustin never got him involved, then Asher wouldn't be as broken as he is now. Maybe then, Dustin and Asher would still be like how they used to be.
"Come on, I'll explain on the way" Dustin says as he walks over to his bike, making Asher stay standing where he is "You not coming?"
"It's probably best I stay out of it" Asher admits, looking down at the ground.
"You want to save Max, right? Get revenge against your dad?" Dustin asks, making Asher look up at him "Then you have to come with me, because right now, we're your only hope at getting what you want."
