Asher just stared as Will continued to paint the barn wall. From the past few years, Asher had learnt not to question anything that was going on, no matter how confusing or stupid it may seem. Asking questions always got Asher a strange look or just the reply of 'I don't know'. Even when his questions or theories were right, for example, Vecna being apart of the Creel family; he just looked at like he was the stupidest person on earth. So, after all of that, Asher just stopped asking, well, at least he tried to.
"Do you know what he's doing?" Asher whispers to Derek, who is standing on his left while Erica is on his right.
"You know more than me, dipshit" Derek whispers back with a scoff.
"Don't use that tone with me" Asher glares at Derek, making Derek look up at Asher "Seriously, dickhead, learn how to talk to people with some respect."
"Sorry Mr Asher" Derek whispers back, making Asher stop glaring at him. Derek had heard of Asher around town, it wasn't too much, but none of it was good. So, if there was one thing Derek knew, it was not to get on Asher's bad side... even if he threatened Asher saying he would go to jail and told Asher to suck his fat one.
"What is it?" Joyce asks, as the group stare at Will's painting.
"I don't know, but I could feel it's important to him" Will mentions.
"To... Mr Whatsit?" Derek asks Will.
"Henry. Mr Whatsit is just a random name he came up with" Asher quickly explains "What if the place has something to do with where he's keeping Holly? Or it could be where he's been hiding this whole time?"
"What?" Joyce asks as the group turn to look at Asher.
"I just mean, we've never seen this place before, right? Never found it in the Upside Down" Asher starts to explain his theory "Then all of a sudden Will gets his oogly boogly thing and he sees this. It has to be somewhere he doesn't want us to see; aka, where he's keeping Holly or aka, where he's been hiding."
"Asher isn't normally wrong about this stuff" Robin mentions, making Asher give her a small smile as the rest of the group give her a confused look "I just mean... Last year at the Creel house, Asher had guessed that Henry was Vecna before the rest of us did. And he also said about him being Henry's son before it was confirmed."
Asher was actually surprised by how he had randomly guessed the truth about Vecna. It was only two things he had guessed, but he was still surprised that it happened once. Even Asher would admit that when it comes to this kind of thing, his mind is always blank; having to get someone to explain everything to him simply. So, having, not one but two, little thoughts be true was a shock for him.
"This idiot figured out who Vecna was before anyone else?" Erica asks, pointing at Asher "Yeah, I don't buy it."
"Okay, that was hurtful" Asher mumbles out "But it's true."
"Then where is it, huh? Since you know everything apparently" Erica asks with a smug look on her face.
"Jeez, Mini Sinclair, do you expect me to know everything?" Asher asks with a scoff.
"I had this feeling he didn't want me there" Will mentions, adding onto Asher's theory "I wasn't supposed to see it."
"You've never been this close to the hive mind before" Robin says to Will "I mean, that thing was, like, feet away. Sometimes at the Squawk, when a signal comes in too strong, it overloads the whole system. I think that's what this was, an overload. You didn't just tap into the hive mind. You jacked right in to the goddamn control center."
"And Holly. Where's Holly?" Joyce asks.
"Holly... Holly she was attached to this spire" Will mentions, getting the can of red paint and paintbrush before painting onto what he saw in the hive mind "And she became a part of it somehow, like it was doing something to her. And... and there were others. There were three others."
"See, I was right!" Asher yells.
"I thought Vecna was just coming for dipshit?" Erica says, pointing over at Derek.
"So did I, but I only knew about Derek because he walked right past me" Will explains to her.
"Serendipitous timing" Robin mumbles out.
"You hear that? Serendipitous" Erica says, looking over at Derek.
"I don't know what that means" Derek whispers.
"I don't know either" Asher also whispers, making Erica roll her eyes at the two.
"I am really not loving all of these extra spires" Robin mentions, walking closer to the painting "I mean, night one, Vecna kidnaps Holly. Night two, he takes three more."
"He's escalating, and he's coming for more" Will adds on.
"Yeah, eight more if this is accurate, which brings him to the total of twelve" Robin adds on again.
"What does he want with them?" Joyce asks "And why kids?"
"Again, he's a pedophile" Asher answers "Always after children, never adults."
"And why twelve?" Erica asks as everyone just ignores Asher, being used to his random comments.
"I don't know" Will sighs "But we have to stop him before he takes any more and buy Dustin and the others time to find this place, to find Holly."
"Maybe if we could pinpoint his exact targets, we could get them out of Hawkins" Robin suggests.
"And out of Vecna's reach" Will adds on.
"Did you forget we're quaratined?" Erica asks.
"That's not all!" Lucas loudly says as him and Mike bike into the barn.
"There's another problem" Mike says, out of breath "On the way here, we saw soldiers load Debbie Miller onto a bus with a bunch more kids. Then we followed them for two blocks more, and they loaded more kids onto it."
"I don't think they were taking them to school" Lucas adds on.
"Vecna's not the only one that wants these kids" Mike says.
"What's with everyone's obsession with kids?" Asher asks with a sigh "Personally, if it was me, I'd leave the kids alone."
"Oh yeah, 'cause you're such a good role model" Erica sarcastically says "Criminal record."
"Hey, I just got off my probation, thank you very much" Asher defends himself, making Erica roll her eyes "I'm an excellent role model."
