"The Turnbows live here" Will explains, pointing on the map "We wait in the van across the street. As soon as they're asleep, we move in, we grab Derek, and we take him to here" Will says, pointing at another location on the map of Hawkins "The McCorkle farm. It's completely isolated. It's abandoned. The only thing is, we need to make sure he doesn't see us or know where he is. So we'll need to blindfold him."
"Wait, wait, wait. Hold on. What?" Steve asks.
"So Vecna can't find him" Robin simply answers.
"I mean, I can't really say much with my criminal past and all, but kidnapping a child?" Asher asks, looking around the group "For one, I just got off probation and I don't wanna risk going back to jail. And two, kidnapping a child is far out of my morals, even if it's a dickhead like Derek."
"Yeah, I got to agree with Ash on this one" Jonathan says, nodding his head "And Mom, you're okay with just kidnapping a child?"
"No, no, we're saving a child via kidnapping" Joyce corrects her oldest son, making Asher give her a confused look "And yeah, it's fine, I think. Yes. Now's not the time to play it safe, Jonathan."
"If I may" Dustin joins in "Though I'm not morally opposed to any of this, there are a few holes."
"Yeah, like what if Derek falls asleep before the Demogorgon attacks him?" Lucas asks.
"Or what if Derek wakes up before we grab him, and alerts his family?" Nancy also asks "We'll go to jail."
"There's another. But the third and most gaping hole is even by some miracle this plan even works, Holly's still missing" Dustin finally adds on "Hop and El, still MIA. This doesn't bring us any closer to finding Vecna. This plan just buys us and Derek some time. That's it."
"Not necessarily. There might be a way. A way to save Derek and find Holly" Mike mentions, making the whole group look at him as he moves towards the table, picking up some of the figures from the D&D game "This is Derek. And this is the rest of the Turnbow family. We're gonna need to recruit someone that the family trusts, someone that can gain access to the house. This person will knock the family out. Then we'll extract the family from the house."
"Knock them out?" Joyce asks Mike, feeling skeptical about the plan.
"Punch them in the face? Hit them over the head with a crowbar?" Asher adds on "We need details, Michael."
"Well, safely, obviously Ash" Mike says, rolling his eyes at the older teenager "With sleeping pills or something."
"I might know where we can get some benzos" Robin mentions "Those things could knock an elephant on it's ass."
"Perfect. That way if Vecna spies, he'll just assume Derek's fast asleep in bed" Mike continues "He'll send his Demos to grab him. Only he won't find Derek, he'll find us. And we'll be ready. We'll get Murray to supply us with the traps. We'll burn the sucker. Send him scampering home to its master, but not before we stick him with one of these" Mike mentions pulling something out of his pocket.
"Okay, I know I've been MIA so I'm a bit behind" Asher mentions "But what is that?"
"It's a tracker. We use it to know Hopper's location whenever he goes on a crawl" Mike quickly explains "We'll track the Demo across the Upside Down in the Sqwack van just like we did with Hopper. And if we're lucky, the Demo will lead us back to its lair, to Vecna, to Holly. Holes?"
"What if--" Asher goes to ask, making everyone look over at him "Yeah, I got nothing."
TIME SKIP BY MIKE AND ASHER ACTUALLY GETTING ALONG
While Lucas and Mike had went to tell Erica the plan and Will and Robin had gone to get the benzos, Asher had stuck with the rest of the group as Murray supplied them with everything they needed. Not that he would admit it, but Asher had missed being with the group, being with his friends that he considers family. He just didn't realise how much he had missed them all until he joined them again.
As Asher was helping Jonathan and Murray get all of the supplies out of the van, he looked over to his right, seeing Dustin standing all on his own. Asher knew he had to apologise to Dustin more than anyone. Dustin is his brother and Asher had decided to break his heart when he was at his lowest.
"I'll be back in a minute" Asher mentions before walking over to Dustin "Hey, can we talk?"
"What do we even have to talk about?" Dustin asks with a scoff.
"I just wanted to say that I didn't mean what I said" Asher says with a sigh, making Dustin look over at him "I get scared when people get close to me because I'm always scared I'm going to lose them. And two out of the three people I care about the most were taken away from me. I just... I didn't want to risk you getting hurt or worse because I seem to lose everyone that's close to me, so I said what I said so that wouldn't happen to you. I didn't say it because I meant it, I said it because I was scared. You are my brother and you're the most important thing to me. I know I fucked up, but I wanted to say that I'm sorry and I know I hurt you, but I'll do whatever it takes to make it up to you, I swear."
"I know you didn't mean it" Dustin admits with a small nod "But that doesn't mean that it still didn't hurt."
"I know, and you don't have to forgive me or whatever" Asher says with a sigh "But if you do, I promise I'll be the best big brother ever."
"You already were" Dustin says with a small smile "Just promise me that you won't leave me this time."
"I'm never going to leave you again" Asher tells Dustin.
