⇉ demon march arc
A restricted ASHALAC record, rewritten in narrative form.
They teach children a lie in Green Island,
a gentle, polished version of history told to keep them sleeping peacefully.
Teachers recite it with soft voices, parents whisper it over bedtime candles, and murals decorate school halls with the same false story:
That the Late Crown Prince died ten years ago. That he vanished in some quiet place, far from politics, far from conflict. That he was killed because the people adored him too much.
It is a pretty story.
Comforting.
Clean.
But behind the palace's sealed gates,
behind ASHALAC's red-lacquered doors and lightless halls, the truth sits heavy, unmoving, and cold:
The Crown Prince died only one year ago. And no one knows except the Crown itself, and the organization he created two decades earlier for this very purpose.
ASHALAC.
Arbitrators of Shadows, Harmony, Law, and Crown.
TWENTY YEARS AGO.
WHEN THE ISLAND BLED.
Green Island was not always the fractured, tense realm it is today. There was a time when the land trembled under the weight of three raging powers:
The Nobles.
The Black Market.
The Underworld Society.
Each ruled their own territory, each demanded allegiance, and each despised the other.
Trade lines collapsed. Borders burned.
Children starved in the cold. And every attempt of the Crown to unite these factions ended in betrayal, corruption, or blood spilled on palace stone.
The royal council that were aging, exhausted, and desperate, placed their final hope on one man:
the late Crown Prince, beloved not merely for his lineage but for his brilliance. His patience. His mind, sharp as a honed blade, calm as a winter tide.
It was he who forged ASHALAC from nothing.
Handpicking operatives from all classes, he gathered scholars and assassins, diplomats and spies, warriors feared by all three factions yet loyal to none of them except him.
He wrote the doctrine that would define a new era:
"Neutrality is peace.
Intervention is mercy.
Balance above all."
ASHALAC enforced negotiations.
ASHALAC exposed corruption.
ASHALAC executed interventions before war could ignite.
Not through tyranny.
Not through brutality.
But through the Prince's reputation, his unwavering fairness, his ruthless sense of justice, his ability to see the worth of every faction, even the condemned ones.
And so, for the first time in a century...
Green Island found peace.
Borders opened.
Trade flourished.
People walked through Lacjzar without fear.
Even the Underworld that were feral, temperamental obeyed his laws. Even the Black Market respected him, for he saw value where others only saw sin.
The leaders of the three great factions made a pact with him, a vow to uphold the fragile balance he constructed.
