You guys have been awesome. You've been supportive, appreciative, interactive, and so many other 'ive's. I love writing for you and hearing your feedback - I've even screenshotted some comments because they made me laugh or happy.
With novels today including innuendo, sexual scenes, and bad language, I've poured my heart into creating a clean fantasy adventure novel dealing with how to overcome anxiety. My goal is to spread awareness of what anxiety truly is and how to deal with it. I've completed my novel, and now I need your help.
Using a professional editor, my novel will transform from a cleverly written work to a beautiful, engaging, and professional piece. With your help, I'll be able to cover editing fees, ensuring A Kingdom of Stars reaches the qualified standard it needs to be to sit in the hands of millions of readers.
I've poured my heart and soul into this project. I've planned, outlined, written, polished, and hacked away at my novel to the best of my ability, but to publish traditionally, I need an editor to help me make this novel the best it can be. The funds will go directly to the editor and the overall process of publishing.
Help me produce a book that can entertain while helping people. Thank you for taking time to consider my request and thank you for your donation!
Because I trust you guys, and you've helped me with so much of my writing ability and confidence, I will include a sneak peak of my novel. You are privileged to read this part, as even some family members have not been allowed to read it:
------
The streets were filled with people, but as I wove through the city and got farther away from the main commotion, the noise and people began to lessen. Many called out my name, and fawned over my new title. I was like some celebrity to them. Did they know what I went through, though? I had finally gotten my wish — I was no longer the Daofen girl. Now the kingdom knew my name. But at what cost?
The wind blew strong and a cold drizzle had begun to fall. Funny, how a bright and sunny day could become so dark and cold. With my head down, I walked faster, my feet leading me to Sage's house. I knew where I was going by now. A scream pierced the lonely air. I froze and swiveled around, my eyes darting in all directions.
No one was in sight.
A shiver rose up on my spine and I pulled my cowl up and continued walking, this time at a faster pace. Rain got into my eyes as the drops began to fall more heavily and faster. I was only a few minutes away from Sage's house. My legs ached from the speed I walked at, but I pushed on.
A sixth sense pulled at me and I swiveled around. Someone was watching me. I felt it. My hand fell to the Giles's knife I had sheathed by my leg. I felt the reassurance of it, and was grateful that I had decided to bring it.
Nothing was around me.
Rain fell down in buckets by now. I felt a sense of deja vu, but didn't know why. Gripping the knife, I walked on, eventually falling into a slow jog. Nerves crawled up my skin. As I turned back to check, my foot caught on mud. My leg slipped in front of me and my back behind me, landing me in an awkward half-split. I gasped at the pain but got up and quickly continued on. Sage's house was now less than a three-minute walk. I shook the rain out of my eyes. I gasped as I realized what had caused the deja vu.
My dream. The vision.
I yelled as a hand gripped my arm, twisting it behind me. Another hand quickly clamped my mouth, muffling my cries. My eyes widened as the fear ran fierce through my veins.
"You won't win this fight," the attacker whispered in a deep voice. I felt his hot breath on my neck, and cringed away, only to be pulled tighter in his hold. "Giles will have his way and a new era of democracy will come into place."
Without a hesitation, the person removed the hand from my mouth and punched me twice on the head, doubling my vision. The man kicked me to the ground, quickly drawing out a small knife and slashed my legs. I shrieked but the mugger wasn't finished. I brought my own knife up, directly over my shoulder. I knew what was going to happen, and I knew where he was going to strike. He was aiming for my heart. I Saw it in the dream. I rolled over as the blow came down, but not far enough. As the blade cut into my skin, into my ribs, I screamed. Without waiting, I grunted and instinctively drew the emotion from within me, summoning the rain to freeze. Icicles of frozen rain drops stabbed him. He yelled, jumping up and away, trying to dodge them. My eyes were closing — it was hard to see with the double vision, anyways. With all my strength, I lifted my hand and tightened my fingers into a fist. The frozen rain gathered together above the captor and fell directly on him, knocking him out. Blood seemed to come from several wounds, but none too dangerous.
A hood covered his face, and with all my strength, I rolled beside him, flicking off the hood.
Ra'ajim, Chief of Daofen.
Tears in my eyes, I ripped part of my cloak and bandaged myself. Nausea rolled over me. God, help me. Numaer, pray for me. I nearly blacked out, but I held myself. I dragged myself up, stumbling over my own feet. God, let me reach Sage.
His house was in sight. I blinked heavily, everything going scarily dark for a few seconds. My legs felt heavy. I fell upon Sage's door, knocking with the last of my strength. I swayed, unsure. He opened the door, at first smiling then quickly supporting me by my underarms.
"I didn't know what else to do," I muttered.
Then I blacked out.
