Welcome to the Author's Note! 🫶

This story was written from a place of wanting to understand how love survives when it is buried under pressure, secrets, and memory loss. I wanted to explore a kind of love that was never given a fair chance—one that was judged before it could even breathe, labeled forbidden not because it was wrong, but because the truth behind it was too painful to face.

At the heart of this story is a girl who grew up believing her worth was measured only by her achievements. As the youngest daughter of a politician, she carries expectations that feel heavier than her own name. Academics became her shield, her only accepted strength, while her emotions were constantly dismissed. What she didn't know was that the pressure she endured was tied to a secret so dark it would eventually tear her world apart.

The boy she loves represents both safety and loss. His amnesia is not just a medical condition, but a symbol of how trauma can erase love, distort reality, and turn affection into resentment.

Watching him hate the girl he once loved the most was one of the most painful truths this story asked me to sit with. Sometimes, the person who hurts us the most is the one who doesn't even remember why they mattered.

This story leans heavily into themes of guilt, inherited sins, and the cruelty of secrets passed down by those in power. It questions how much children should suffer for the mistakes of their parents, and whether love should be punished for crimes it never committed.

I wanted to show that healing is not linear, and forgiveness is not instant—but it is possible when two people choose to face the truth together.

More than anything, this is a story about choosing healing over hatred. After everything they lost—memories, trust, innocence—they chose not to walk away. They chose to heal side by side, not because love fixed everything, but because love stayed while everything was broken.

Thank you for trusting this story and the emotions it carries.

Thank you for sitting with the pain, the confusion, and the slow, quiet healing. And thank you for believing that even forbidden love can grow into something gentle, honest, and real.

See you in our last journey.

I will never get tired of writing. ✍️

All love,
Buwan 🌙
