Chapter 74
Monday December 11th
Mallory's POV

"You guys have been fucking without kissing for two months?!"

I facepalmed at Mason's reaction, not expecting that to be what it was. It was bright and early on a Monday morning, but it's not like I got much sleep last night to begin with. I was practically tossing and turning the entire time, unable to shut my mind off after the special night that Harry and I shared.

Especially with that kiss.

The entire thing was a complete surprise, I never would have expected him to come crawling into my bed at such a time, with delicious snacks and a movie picked out for us to watch together. By that time, I was ready to turn off the lights and go to sleep, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to spend more time with him. I was totally prepared to learn the outcome of his case and see him again the next morning, but my face lit up when I watched him come through my door.

It was endearing to say the least to watch him battle with the projector when it was giving him problems. Day in and day out he comes up with medical miracles on the fly, doing everything possible to save a life, but the technology is what was giving him the most trouble. I couldn't help but make a comment about it, giggling as he grew more frustrated, but I think it just showed that he wanted the night to go on without a hitch. I appreciated that.

Then of course I loved the significant detail of bringing my favorite type of candy to snack on. It could have been so much easier to just stop by the gift shop and grab a family size bag of the normal sized m&m's, but he didn't. Instead, he stayed by the vending machine and waited for several of them to fall, just so that I could have the miniature ones. I'd be lying if I said it didn't warm my heart.

Then of course there was the movie. Honestly, I didn't even care what film he put on, because I was just happy to be cuddling up beside him in the first place. It was scary that my feelings were that way, but Harry was giving me the comfort that I desperately needed in this harrowing time. I remember one day he asked me how I just always know what to say to make him feel better, like it was some foreign concept he didn't understand, but he was doing the same for me right now. He was there to hold me when I needed to break down, and then last night he was there again in a different, but still effective, way.

"I had to clean burn marks on your ass and you haven't even kissed him yet?!" Mason continued with a screech, in absolute disbelief.

"Nooo" I finally answered my friend, getting so lost in my thoughts that I forgot I was even having a conversation with him. I snapped out of it, meeting his appalled eyes at the idea he threw into the air, laughing a bit as I shook my head. Clearly, I needed to explain it differently. "We've kissed before, but last night we like just kissed"

"Ooooh" Mason caught on, dragging out his syllables until at once his eyes opened wide. His face twisted into an array of shock, then once again back into appalment. "I had to guard the door so you two could make out?!"

I furrowed my eyebrows, turning to ask him a question now. "Guard the door?"

"Yeah he told me I'd get a surgery if I did that" Mason briefly explained.

"You know there is a 99% he was lying to you, right?" I asked just to make sure, knowing Harry is one that's willing to do anything if it gets him what he wants. He can't stand letting interns scrub in on his surgeries, and there was a fair chance Harry was just saying it just to say it. I couldn't help but giggle if that was the case, because although it would be unfair, it was also kind of sweet he was so adamant on making sure no one caught onto us.
