Allison remembers the first day she met Connor. He was sweet. He really was. He was nice to her and he laughed at all her jokes. She couldn't ask for anything more. It was surprising to her when he wanted to continue seeing her. She wasn't shocked because of insecurities or anything like that. She was shocked because of his status. She didn't think he had time for girls. She obviously said yes, and it was like they were dating in the blink of an eye.
There was a lot of really good aspects to their relationship. For starters, Connor was really supportive of Allison in every way. He would text her as often as possible to ask about her day at school, or call to hear about her basketball games. She was just as supportive with him. It was a mutual thing. They were a great support system with each other. Connor really couldn't ask for more. A hot girl that supported him, was great in bed, and wasn't crazily territorial? That was the jackpot to him. He didn't let her forget it either.
She went to Malmö for the World Junior tournament with him and everything. His family loved her and she loved his family. The team enjoyed her company and she didn't have a problem with joking with them as much as they joked with her. Connor was pretty sure he had found his perfect girl. They were already making plans for their futures. Allison was well aware things could change, seeing as Connor was top ranked in the 2015 draft. That was their graduation year.
So obviously she'd just go to school wherever he was drafted, right? Absolutely wrong. She was applying for scholarships all across Canada. She was getting out of her crappy city and she didn't care if Connor was with her or not. They had managed to make their distance work, they'd figure it out later. They cared about each other and that's why they weren't worried about their different paths. They'd figure it out. They were the perfect couple. Connor always said that.
So you could understand the confusion when Allison was informed her supportive, perfect boyfriend was seeing some other girl. By one of his own teammates.
