Two weekends later, the girls were on route to London. Kara had made dinner plans with Dylan. And Connor. Allison didn't know that part. Connor was really sad since he got dumped by her. And since he broke his hand. He didn't have Allison or hockey. Kara kinda felt bad for him. But not really since he did cheat on her best friend.
The Otters beat the Knights in a shootout. Mitch had scored the tying goal. Normally Kara would've cheered for him, but she was in disguise currently. Allison wasn't too worried about it. She had caught Connor staring at them a few times throughout the game. He was texting her about some plays. She just ignored him. In the shootout, Dylan and Mitch both missed. Max Domi, Nick Baptise, and Nick Betz were the goalscorers in the shootout. Two were in Erie's favour, clearly.
Kara was hiding in Allison's car while Allison waited for Dylan. She was going to drive them to the restaurant. Before Dylan came out, Max Domi did. Allison had met him a few times. He smiled and gave her a hug. They talked for a bit before he excused himself. He mentioned something about having to spend time with the boys before he left for World Juniors. Allison was mad now. Dylan came out with Connor walking beside him. She narrowed her eyes.
"Hey, where's Kara?" Dylan asked, hugging Allison.
"In the car, she had a headache." She explained, glaring at Connor. "Why is he here?"
"Kara said he could come." Dylan frowned. Allison snorted. "C'mon Al, he's having a rough time." He squeezed Connor's shoulder.
She rolled her eyes, looking over at Connor. "Whatever. Just don't talk to me." She huffed, turning on her heels to walk them to her car.
Kara sat in the back with Dylan. Connor didn't try to talk to Allison. She didn't even look at him. She had her speakers up as music played from her phone. He kept glancing over at her. She didn't want to hear anything he had to say. He could tell. That's why he stayed quiet.
They made it to the restaurant. Allison parked and walked inside, not bothering to wait for anyone. She got them a booth. Kara went to slide in next to her but she stopped her. Dylan was the only person she wasn't mad at, so Dylan sat next to Allison and across from Kara.
Allison glanced up from her menu to glare at Connor. The waitress asked for their drinks for starters. All of them ordered an iced tea. The three talked amongst each other while Allison looked over the menu in silence.
"I've never heard you so quiet." Dylan teased, bumping her shoulder.
"Sorry, I'm just a little stressed out." Allison cleared her throat, sipping her iced tea.
"About what?" Kara snorted.
"About the three grand I dropped on World Juniors to go watch someone that was cheating on me." Allison spat, not looking away from her menu.
"What?" Connor exclaimed. "Why did you do that?"
"I wanted to cheer on my boyfriend." Allison said, setting the menu down.
"I could've got you tickets for free!" He growled. "Jesus Christ, Allison!"
"I was planning on surprising you, but you surprised me first." She laughed. "God, you had to invite him, huh?" She hissed at Kara before she shot up.
"Alli!" Kara called after her. Connor got up to follow her but Kara stopped him. "Leave her. You won't help."
Connor huffed, sitting back down. "What's she gonna do with her tickets?" He frowned.
"She's gonna go and find someone new." Dylan stated.
"Ouch?" Connor glared at him.
Dylan shrugged. "You fucked up."
Allison finally came back. Her face was all red. There was small talk amongst the Otters and Kara. Allison only spoke when she ordered.
They all ate and sat around for a bit more. Allison said something about being tired and Kara had to make the decision on whether she was driving back with her friend or staying the night at Dylan's hotel.
"Kara, I don't care!" Allison exclaimed as they walked to her car. "Just decide before we get to their hotel."
"We have a game at home tomorrow so we'll have to leave early." Connor mentioned.
Allison rolled her eyes. She got into her car, waiting to drive. The rest climbed in.
The drive was the exact same. Allison pulled up in front of the hotel. She sat on her phone, waiting on Kara to decide what she wanted to do. Connor stayed in the car. He turned her music down. Her head shot towards him.
"Can we talk?" He asked.
"About what?" She chuckled.
"Whatever you're feeling." He turned his body towards her. "Let it all o-"
"I hate you." She stated. "I hate what you did to me and I don't know why you think anything will change that."
"You can't hate someone you once loved." He frowned.
"Then I really dislike you." She scoffed. "Look, I get that you're sorry but I'm still hurt and I don't see you making this better any time soon. So do both of us a favour and go text the girl you cheated on me with."
He didn't say anything. He just opened the door and stomped into the hotel.
Dylan and Kara watched from where they were standing outside. Dylan let out a long sigh before he kissed her. He told her they'd talk then ran after Connor. Kara climbed into the passenger's seat. Allison didn't say a word.
Dylan chased after Connor. He stopped him at the elevator.
"What hap-"
"She hates me. She told me she hates me." Connor cut him off.
"But I thought she said on the ph-"
"I read it wrong." Connor spat. "It's really fucking done, Dylan."
He stepped on the elevator when the doors opened. Dylan followed him. They didn't speak. They didn't speak when they were in their room either. Dylan texted Kara to try to get Allison to talk. He was nosy. She promised to try her best.
"So, did you and Connor talk?" Kara exhaled slowly.
"Yup."
"And?"
"He's an idiot."
"Didn't reach a common ground or an,"
"Nope."
Kara nodded slowly. "Good chat."
The rest of their two hour drive was silent.
