Allison gave Kara a weird look. Allison was laying in Kara's bed while she did her make up. Kara checked her phone and then let out a growl. Kara showed her phone to Allison. It was a picture of Mitch. Allison made gagging noises. Kara rolled her eyes, going back to her make up. Allison was ready for a nap. She didn't even know what Kara was getting ready for. Allison pulled a blanket over herself, curling into a ball.
"What are you doing?" Kara frowned.
"Going to sleep." Allison stated.
"But I need you." Kara whined.
"Let me guess," Allison sighed, sitting up. "You need a ride to London?" Kara tried to not give it away with her facial expression. Allison rolled her eyes. "Wake me up and I'll drop you off." She laid back down.
"But Max is hanging out too and I figured you and him c-"
"Max has a girlfriend and he's like five foot two." Allison argued, her eyes closed.
"He's five foot nine and he and his girlfriend are so, wibble-wobbly." Kara explained.
"'Wibble-wobbly'? Kara, I can't." Allison huffed.
"Why? He's friends with Connor! And girlfriends have never stopped you before!" Kara pleaded.
"What do you mean 'girlfriends have never stopped me before'? I've never hooked up with a taken guy!" Allison shot up.
"Connor was taken." Kara stated.
"I didn't know Connor was taken." Allison pointed out. "Wow, that should've been a warning sign." She laughed.
"Just come hang out with Max. He's really cool." Kara pouted.
"I know he's cool. I'm just so exhausted." Allison whined, flopping back.
Allison gave in. She got ready and the girls set off for London.
Allison knew how it would go. Kara would spend the night with Mitch and Allison would drive home. She'd have to come back for Kara on Sunday, unless Kara's mom agreed to pick her up or Mitch could manage to find time to drive her home. Kara was doing the most for these hook ups. And so was Allison apparently.
Mitch greeted the girls at this bar. "Hi, baby." He purred, kissing Kara. "Allison." He chimed, hugging her.
Allison was civil. "Hi, Mitchy." She smiled. She turned to Max. "Lord Domi." She teased, pretending to bow.
He laughed. "Shut up, Allison." They sat and a waitress came over. "I'm gonna take a beer, so will they."
"I'll actually take an iced tea." Allison cut in. Max cocked a brow. "I'm driving."
"Drink with us, you can crash at my place." Max smirked.
She shrugged. "We'll see."
She didn't drink. But Kara did.
Allison argued with Mitch for most of the night. She couldn't stand Mitch.
She drove Mitch and Kara to his billet house, then drove herself and Max to his house. He was being a gentleman and letting her stay the night at his apartment. They were watching TV on the couch in silence.
"Sorry Mitch is such an asshole." Max broke the silence.
She shrugged. "It's whatever."
"I don't know why he was making so many McDavid comments." He shook his head. "McDavid is an asshole too."
She laughed a bit. "That's for sure." She sighed. "I spent three grand to watch him play at Worlds this year and he cheated on me." She shook her head. "Do you know how long I had to save?"
His brows furrowed. "Are you spending Christmas on the road?" She nodded. "Is Kara going with you?" She shook her head. "You'll be spending it with the team. I'll talk to coach."
"Really?" She smiled. He nodded. "Are you gonna be on the team?"
He snorted. "Absolutely."
Allison woke up early the next day and picked Kara up from Mitch's. Kara kept picking at her to find out why she was so miserable. Allison finally snapped and told her it was because of Mitch. Kara tried to apologize but Allison just brushed it off. Kara offered to sleep over the night before she left and help her pack to make it up to her. Allison took it.
Kara sat on Allison's bed as she packed. "I can't believe you're leaving me for Christmas break." She shook her head.
Allison rolled her eyes. "I was so mad because I would've had to spend Christmas by myself in Montreal." She growled. "But Max said I could spend it with the team and that he'd talk to Groulx himself."
"And you didn't wanna hang out with him." Kara sang.
"It wasn't Max, it was Mitch." Allison stated. "I'm going to the exhibition game in Toronto on Friday to see them play Russia, then I'm flying to Ottawa that night, another exhibition game against Sweden, and then I'm taking a bus to Montreal for the final exhibition game against Switzerland."
"I'm so jealous and so mad at you." Kara whined. "I wanna come but I don't wanna miss out on my guys."
"I'm so nervous, Kare." Allison laughed. "What if I run into Connor's family? They don't know why we broke up."
"Tell them." Kara snorted.
"That's so mean." Allison shook her head. "I'd probably just make something up."
"Maybe you won't run into them." Kara shrugged.
"Hopefully." Allison sighed.
