Y/N's POV

Y/N woke early in her new home. Rolling off the mattress that had been laid on the floor of Shadow's room for her while hers was being sorted out, she gently shook him.

"Shadow, wake up."
"Huh? Is it breakfast already?"
"No, silly. I just woke up early."
"Oooookay, then why did you wake me?"

"I think you know why."
Y/N pinned him down, giggling. Shadow laughed too, pulling her down so her head was on his chest.

"Finally, we can spend time together when we're not in mortal danger."
"I agree."
Shadow rested his chin on her head, both hands on her back, "I wish this could've happened sooner."
"What makes you say that?"
"Then we'd have more time together."
Y/N laughed, "I love you, Shadow the Hedgehog."
"And I love you, Y/N the Hedgehog."
"I really need to get used to being called that."
"I don't think it'll take you long. You've adapted pretty quickly to being a hedgehog."
"Thanks."
The pair's eyes met, both closing the gap between them. Their lips met, gently pressing into one another.

As they parted, an idea came into Y/N's head, "Hey, you know what?"
"What?"
"I bet all of us could make a pretty good pop band. You know, me, you, Sonic and Silver on guitars, Knuckles on drums, me and the other girls as the singers and Tails on keyboard."
"I think you're getting somewhere. You'll have to teach the rest of us though."
"Shouldn't be too hard."
Both of them laughed again, pressing together like they had done before. The morning was theirs and theirs alone.
