Superficiality

Superficiality;
We are all just shallow.
We think that we are making our own way
But, instead, we are travelling along a road; long ago created.

To differentiate ourselves we listen to a different type of music,
Wear an alternative style of clothing,
Take more intoxicating pills.
But then, we become part of a cult.

Being individual is not an option
But we strive to not be main-stream.
When told that we are not alone,
It does not create a solace.
Because sometimes we want to be different.

We are all doppelgängers, clones
And try, as you may, to be yourself
but in the eyes of society, we can always be categorised.
