Poem 100: Stars of everything

30 7 6

Stars of everything.
Stars shining to the moon and down on all of the people.
Stars shining around the sun and down on all of the flowers.
Stars brightening up the smiles.
Stars reviving the deadness in your eyes.

Stars of everything.
Stars in passing car windows
And under streetlights.
Stars are the sounds of melodies dancing in the wind.
Stars are the touch of feathers against your bleeding skin.

Stars of everything.
Stars so far up above our heads
That they seem unreachable
Yet they are below our feet,
That's why we stare at the ground.

Stars of everything.
Stars criss crossed in your pupils
Or thrown up like blazing paper lanterns,
To float to the lilt of the breeze.
We are as inconsequential as one star amongst all others.

Stars of everything.
Stars pulsing out that fluorescent glow
That highlights every cell of our skin.
Stars lifted up and placed a million miles away
And yet they are so close
That they ride with your laughter.

Stars of everything.
Stars shining to the moon and down on all of the people.
Stars of everything.

I cannot believe that this is freaking poem 100! It was inspired by a poem which I wrote for my dad when I was 7, somehow I was a better poet then. Thank you to anyone who reaches this poem, this is for you.
