Gravity has stopped,
Everything loses direction
And the skies are chaotic;
Blood streaked across bright blue.
Lifelines are drowning
And my heart is suspended
In cracks
In mirrors,
In your eyes.
Stars hang in the balance
Amongst light bulbs
And flesh.
Pages of paper are torn
And souls are shredded.
We begin to drift
Like we are buoyant
But it feels like I am going under.
Contempt is platonic
And love rips this infamous land
To shreds,
Until my reflection is only seen
In fragments of a broken world.
You and I
Are burning up this planet.
Gravity has stopped
And galactic years are immeasurable.
My talons reach out across space
And yours reach out
And destroy my skin.
I am a body of blood,
Flesh on the inside,
Organs visible.
My brain aches more than my heart.
They throb and pulse with the sound of your laughter,
Of your tears,
Your words,
Your smile.
Broken foundations
Are the remains
That ancestors will build upon.
Our words will live forever
And char and ashes
Will be preserved,
Our souls will be everlasting,
Like we thought the galaxies would be.
