Mindful but empty heads

As day flooded into night, I was drawn into a light;
I stared into golden eyes, hypnotised by clever minds.
Open arms drew me in, as darkness forgave my sins.
Silhouettes in a wood,
Calling my name as I stood.

We are running to a stand still, running to a stand still.
I'll take the water but not the pill.
We are running to a stand still, running to a stand still.
Do all fighters have to kill?

Watch me sink into the waters of my soul,
Don't turn your back when you hear me call.
My first words repeated as my last,
My future an edit of my past.
Mindful but empty heads,
What if anger was black and sadness red?

Fearless and more afraid,
the path close but I strayed.
Shadows beckoned me,
I felt full of possibility.
Blood surged through my veins,
Whilst the adrenaline reigned.
I took an outstetched palm, feeling finally calm.

Happiness runs parallel to sadness,
But a thin line separates madness.

Mind(ful but empty) heads,
What if anger was black and sadness red?
