(BOSS THEME)
"Shiro, you know right?" she whispered to her partner in which the demon nodded
"Yeah, I can't risk letting you use too much of your herrscher power, I'll be the frontline while you support me behind." His aura of flames continued to burn as he answered.
The ground of Mt. Taixuan groaned as the battle for the Phoenix's legacy began in earnest. The air was no longer a mist of mountain air, but a thick, pressurized ink that bled from the Herrscher's very presence.
"You two don't stand a chance against me, Fools!" Sentience roared, her voice echoing with a thousand distorted voices. With a jagged, predatory grin, she reached into the air and tore a massive, ornate greatsword from her weapon chest.
Shiro didn't wait for her to finish her boast. His white hair whipped in the gale of his own dark aura, the black flames on his tachi roaring with a hungry intensity. He vanished in a blur of obsidian smoke, appearing directly in Senti's guard.
CLANG!
The black flame of the tachi met the cold gold and black steel of Senti's greatsword. The impact sent a shockwave through the stone tiles, cracking the mountain peak. Senti laughed, a sharp, manic sound, as she leaned into the blade.
"Is that all you've got, pervert?!" she taunted.
"Don't blink," Shiro's voice rumbled, deep and resonant.
Kiana didn't hesitate. She didn't need to see Shiro's face to know the opening was there. Three subspace lances shot out from the void, trailing stardust and raw Honkai energy. They didn't aim to kill, but to pin.
Senti's eyes widened. "Tch! Annoying!"
She didn't dodge; she shifted. In a flash of crimson light, she swapped the greatsword for a long, ornate spear. She slammed the butt of the spear into the ground, creating a localized gravity well that sucked the lances-and Kiana's focus-toward its center.
"If you want to play with toys, try these!" Senti shouted, launching herself into the air. She spun the spear like a propeller, raining down dozens of illusory spears that looked like falling feathers made of blood.
Shiro moved with the instinct of a seasoned hunter. He didn't retreat. He dashed through the rain of illusory spears, his flaming tachi slicing through the projections like they were paper.
"Kiana! Now!"
Kiana snapped her fingers. A portal opened beneath Shiro's feet just as a spear was about to impale him. In the same heartbeat, another portal opened directly above Senti's head.
Shiro erupted from the ceiling portal, falling like a black meteor. His tachi was held in a reverse grip, the black flames concentrating into a single, needle-thin point of destruction.
Senti looked up, her expression shifting from arrogance to genuine irritation. She didn't have time to reposition the spear. She dropped it and uncoiled the segmented chain-blade from her waist.
CRACK!
The whip-sword lashed out in a wide, sweeping arc, catching Shiro's blade mid-air. The friction between the black demon fire and the Herrscher's crimson ink created a blinding light that swallowed the mountain peak.
As the smoke cleared, the trio stood in a triangle of mutual destruction.
The Herrscher of Sentience stood in the center, her breathing slightly heavy, her indigo hair wildly tangled. The weapon case at her back was glowing with an ominous, pulsing red light. She wasn't laughing anymore.
