Chapter 24

24. Her kiss is beautiful.

" Stop it! " Rayne yelled on top of her lungs as she closed her eyes and pressed her palm on her ears, standing up.

With wide eyes and big gasp escaping Luke's mouth, he realized something. Rayne might not stand for herself, but for others she was like knight in a shining armor.

Now, the brunette fuming with anger marched towards the Gang Leader and slapped him, right across the cheek but he looked unmoved by it.

"Rayne? " Alec sputtered out with great stunned posture as soon as he spotted her presence and a sensation across his cheek. "What are you doing here?"

"I should be the one to ask you that! " Rayne was beyond angry, "How can you order to kill someone like that!?"

"Its none of your business Rayne."

"What? I just witnessed you -",Rayne turned to Harry, the one who shot the person on Alec's order "- you killed him! How could you? "

"Rayne that's enough. Come with me." Alec said in a calm tone."Luke, go home. I'll take Rayne."

Luke just nodded an unspoken 'yes'.

"Luke won't go anywhere! I won't let you take me home. You are disgusting, Alec! ", Rayne shouted. "You have no idea what you did. And just look at your face, no remorse, no guilt! "

"Luke, go home. Harry, you know what you have to do", Alec again said in a calm tone. "Come with me, Rayne."

Alec grabbed Rayne's wrist and dragged her to his car .

"Let me go. I don't want to go anywhere with you! ", she constantly struggled against his grip but he shoved her into the passenger's seat.

As he got into the driver's seat and started the engine, Rayne puffed her cheeks with anger and looked anywhere but him.

After a very tensed ten minutes drive, Alec switched on the radio.

A song serenaded soundly all through the car .

"Got my mind on your body and your body on my mind. Gotta taste for the cherry. I just need to take a bite -" Rayne turned the volume to nil to shut out Demi 's Cool for the summer.

Alec increased the volume to full .

She decreased the volume.

He increased the volume .

She decreased the volume, again .

He increased it and she decreased, for numerous times until their hands touched a little, and Rayne retreated back.

Alec just smiled and enjoyed .

As the road stretched on and on, Rayne saw a sign which said-' Thank you for visiting Milauje.'

Her conscience jerked in. "Where are you taking me? Where are we going?" She asked .

"Somewhere." He answered " Just wait."

Ensued minutes came to an end as Alec stopped the car.

The area was very desolate. Forest surrounded the road and greenery bragged its freshness.

Alec got outside and opened the door for Rayne. She just looked the other way when he did.

Alec shook his head in disappointment and slid his hands under Rayne's knees and back .

She squirmed under his touch and jerked a little.

"What are you doing? " She asked .

He smiled and scooped her up in his arms and started walking towards the forest.

"Put me down!" She struggled. "I will walk."

"No."

"What do you mean 'No'? Put me down."

"You'll fall Rayne. Stop struggling. We are almost there."

"Almost where?"

"You'll see."

"Jerk",she muttered under breath.

"I heard that."

" So what?"

"You can use slang ." He smirked .

She just scoffed at his behaviour and looked to the other side .

They reached to a clearing which had a lake in its middle.

Alec gently placed her feet on the forest floor . She looked around and queried," why are we here? "

"To talk." He sat on the ground and patted the space next to him.

Rayne hitched a little with hesitation but sat down next to him.

"Talk?" She asked."About what? "

"About you."

"What about me?"

"That you can stand up for anyone but yourself. Why?"

"What?" She frowned.

"Yes. You tried to stop the fight between Damian and me. You argued with me to not fire Lisa. You saved Luke. You are mad at me because I killed someone. But you won't do any of that when you are the one suffering. Why Rayne? "

"I don't know."

"How can you do that? You have to stand up for yourself Rayne."

"It is not that necessary."

"It is. "

"Why are you acting so strange?"

"What do you mean?", he asked .

"You are so sweet for sometime and then you become rude."

"I have my own reason for that. But I never want to be rude with you."

"Then why do you behave like that?",she asked.

"I -uh- ...Chasity said she can break you and she'll do that if I don't listen to her. "

"Oh, sorry. I didn't know that. But why'd you killed him?"

"That's my business. I will tell you someday."

He turned his face towards her and said," You said sorry to me. Are you really sorry because you didn't know why I was being rude?"

"Yes."

"Then kiss me."

"What? No."

"You have to. You slapped me and didn't even say sorry." He tried to her do it.

"Okay. Sorry."

"I don't want a sorry now. Kiss me right here." He pointed to his cheek,which didn't pained at all.

Rayne looked down for bit and then placed a small kiss on his cheek. Her lips were so soft against his rough skin,that they almost felt like feather to him.

She blushed the deepest shade of pink, that lingered vibrantly on her pale skin.

Alec smiled as he felt good emotions bubbling inside him.

"You are so beautiful, Rayne."
