Chapter 23

23. Her eyes witness vicious.

"What do you mean, Lisa?"

"Why don't you find out by yourself?"

"But -"

"No buts darling." Lisa got up with the tray in her hand. "Oh and Luke is waiting for you downstairs."

" Okay" Rayne got up to stride down but was stopped instantly.

"At least take a shower. You smell."

"Okay." She smiled.

After taking a nice warm shower Rayne scurried downstairs.

"Hi Rayne." Luke greeted .

"Hey! "

"I found a really nice restaurant, wanna come?"

"Umm...I just had my lunch."

"Oh come on! Please?" Luke made a cute face with earnest eyes and pouty lips .

Rayne just laughed and nodded.

"Thank you! Let's go."

He practically dragged her outside.

With beautiful blue colour the sky gleamed with white puffy clouds. The afternoon was just ending and the evening was setting in. After a half hour drive, over which Rayne and Luke talked happily, they reached to the restaurant.

The waitress showed them the way to the table, which was meant for two and slide two menus on the table .

"What looks good? ", Rayne asked .

"Umm... I don't know."

"I thought you came here before."

"Uh, Uh. I said I found one."

"You are so stupid."

"Whatever. Order already! I am starving."

" Okay ...I will take cheese sandwich."

The waitress came and took their orders.They ate and talked over silly stuff.

"Puft! I am full." Rayne announced .

"What? You just ate two."

"So what?"

"So...let's go. "

They set off to their half an hour ride.

"They shouldn't keep it red." Luke threw his hands up as it protested against the red traffic light.

"Why?" Rayne asked .

"Because it's red. I hate red colour."

"I love red colour." Rayne smeared her thoughts.

"I love red colour too."

"Oh really?"

"Of course yes!"

"You are so-" Rayne stopped as she saw something outside,"-stop the car!"

"I am so stop the car. What the hell does that mean? "

"Stop the car Luke." Rayne told him.

" Okay. Let me pull it here." Luke halted the car at the side of the road. As soon as he did, Rayne literally flew out of it .

"Wait-Rayne, where are you going?"Luke asked as he locked the car and followed her.

" Shh, Luke! See" Rayne pointed towards a expected sight, which she didn't implore for .

Luke darted his eyes towards the scene. He wasn't as shock as Rayne .

Rayne and Luke, hid behind a bush.

It was a silent alley and there stood, Alec with his arms crossed over his chest. A man who looked terribly scared kneeled down in front of him. Two people from the gang, one holding the scared one's hand and other pointing a gun towards his head .

"Tell me! I won't repeat myself" Alec's voice boomed with so much heaviness and authority that everyone jumped out of their stance.

"I am telling the truth. I don't know",the man answered.

Alec kneeled down in front of him and grabbed his collar.

"Don't give me this shit! Answer!"

"I don't know. Please let me go." the victim demanded .

"Uh-Uh, now that you've seen us, no way" Alec got up,"You are useless."

"Please."

"Kill him, Harry" Alec ordered Harry, the one who was holding the gun.

Alec was coming back to his old self, the one which didn't include any emotions and sensitivity for anyone. The gang leader was finding his ruthless way back to remorseless path. No trait of guilt he held on his face.

"No! No -" the man's voice silenced as the trigger blew off, bullet cutting through his skull. Not even seconds passed before he dropped dead on the pavement.

Rayne gasped as she saw the dead body and blood oozing out of it. She almost screamed but Luke placed the curvature on his fingers and palm on her lips, covering her scream.

"Calm down, Rayne."

"How can I calm down!? He killed him." Rayne whispered.

"I know but its his business."

"Business, my foot! Killing someone is totally insane-" Rayne got up but Luke pulled her down.

"Don't be stupid." He warned.

"But Luke-" Rayne was cut off by constant sound of gun blowing off.

She looked, to find even more brutal and heartless action of Alec.

Alec had shot all the six bullets into the already dead man's chest.

"Asshole-" Alec muttered.

" Stop it! " Rayne yelled on top of her lungs as she closed her eyes and pressed her palm on her ears, standing up.
