14. Her words are wise.

The hotel's ball room came alive as the music blasted up the speaker to the highest of its capacity. People danced around, being able to sheen on some carelessness as they got even more drunk.

The party was on its highest robe.

Everyone was slithering across the room with a red cup except one: Rayne.

Alec and Chasity were nowhere to be found.

"Are you Rayne?",a girl's voice asked .

Rayne looked up only to see a little, whom she taught to play guitar a few days ago and Shawn.

"Yes", she answered.

" Daddy, she the one who taught me", Tessa, for what her name was, snickered.

"Oh so you are James' daughter. It's nice to meet you Rayne. This is my daughter Tessa." Shawn introduced and shook hands .

"Tessa was praising you all the time", Shawn smiled. "She was begging me to find you."

"Thanks Tessa", Rayne smiled.

"Can you spend a little more time with her? She is practically getting on my nerves", Shawn gushed .

"Sure."

"That's great! Are you happy now, Tessa?" Shawn asked his eight-year- old.

"Yes daddy! Thank you Rayne", Tessa smiled.

"Now say goodbye to Rayne, its bedtime. We'll pester her for her time some other day", Shawn said .

"Bye Rayne! " she waved, which Rayne copied .

It was clear that Shawn was not like her father. She was happy.

"Get out!",a harsh, manly voice ran through the crowd and suddenly the music stopped.

Rayne scurried to the source of this infuriating sound. As she reached she saw, Alec lying down on the floor coughing up blood and another boy, who was none other than Damian, Shawn's son leaning upon him.

Alec kicked as he gained some momentum in the fight causing pernicious stance to Damian.

Damian leaned down and grabbed Alec's collar to throw another punch but Rayne jumped right in front.

" Stop it!",she yelled. Damian loosed his grip on Alec and he fell on the floor.

"It is not good to fight. I don't know whatever your reason is for this fight but I think you should let it slide. I know you both are strong and really sensible. And all I am saying is fight is never the solution. You can sit and settle this with a peaceful talk," Rayne rambled with a few words of wisdom.

"Shut up! You brat they are fighting for me! You ruined everything",Chasity squealed. "Ugly girl, don't you have senses?! I should've never brought you here!"

"I am sorry Chasity but-",Rayne apologized.

"Shut up!", Chasity squeaked.

Rayne lowered her head in shame. She was humiliated. She should've been praised for stopping the fight but, fate played its cruel game and showed its ugly face.

Rayne was at the verge of crying. Her tears were resting on the brink of her eyes, ready to fall down but she didn't cry.

She swallowed everything inside and tried to keep it cool.

Alec was gone by now, he left the party, seeing he was not that well.

"So she is that ugly nerd?", Damian smirked.

Chasity nodded .

"So does looks hot. What's your name, babe?" He asked .

" Rayne."

"What a beautiful name for a ugly nerd! Chasity told me how you serve as a servant back at her house. Why aren't you doing the same now?" He was drunk and his senses were out. He let out a small surly chuckle so did few people.

"Why are you laughing? Even if I serve as a servant which I don't, I don't think you should laugh at it. No job is small, you may live a rich life but you should never -"

"Oh my god, why are you even speaking this bullshit?" Chasity's voice interrupted her.

"You suck. What are you trying to do, deliver a lesson in value education? No one cares", Damian laughed.

Chasity was drunk too, so she started laughing and then, all the crowd burst out into fits of laughter.

Was the conspicuous comment on values so funny, that the galore of foolish heads started laughing?

Rayne couldn't handle it anymore. A tear slipped down her cheek. She felt broken and ashamed . She was humiliated. Few minutes ago it was going all too well but now for Rayne it felt almost unbearable.

"Aww are you crying? " Damian mimicked a girly voice and then everyone again burst out into fits of laughter again.

They were laughing on her, without even thinking. They crushed her respect in seconds.

Another tear slipped down her cheek and when she felt she couldn't take it anymore, she ran .

She let her heart out and cried and cried, the cries she has been holding on for years .

The world is so unfair.
