34. Her decision orients detestable.
Rayne passed her two days being captivated in the big yet dreadfully depressing basement.
Caden would stumble down for once in a day to feed her with utterly abominable mashed potatoes.
Just like any other day for Rayne being experiencing as a victim of being kidnapped , Caden came down with food and water.
Heavy footsteps reverberated through the walls of the basement.
Rayne looked up as the she heard the basement door being open. Her hand and legs were still tied to the arms of the chair.
"Today, Freddy will come to knock answers out of you." Caden sighed.
"Freddy?" The name seemed familiar to Rayne. She had quite heard it sometimes but she couldn't remember where.
"Yes, Freddy Brown, James' brother. He just wants to know somethings that will- Leave it! Eat." Caden slid the plate of food to one side and opened Rayne's arms and then settled the plate into her lap.
"Caden, wait! I'll tell you whatever you need to know if you tell me what Freddy wants?" Rayne said trying to put up a deal.
Caden thought for a while and seem to like the idea.
"Okay. Freddy hates James, he despise him. I don't know their past exactly but it was about who was going to inherit and become the leader of their dad's gang, your grandfather."
As soon as Caden finished the last sentence, Rayne's body tensed. She knew that she isn't his daughter and she has no concern about her so called grandfather.
"What happened Rayne? ", Caden asked.
"Nothing. Carry on." She sighed.
"Well then, after the death of their father, they divided the gang, although none of them wanted to. Each of them wanted to be the leader of the whole gang. Therefore, till now they are trying destroy and conquer each other's gang."
"Whom do you work for? Freddy?" Rayne asked.
"Yes, I work for him."
"But you don't want to? Right?" Rayne asked.
"I don't have choice but to work for him." He looked down to refrain from breaking down.
"We always have a choice, Caden." She tried to sooth him.
"No, we don't. It was either I hurt you or Ally. I am sorry but avenging Alec was just a excuse. I couldn't hurt Ally."
"It is okay, Caden." She said while faking a smiling.
"But I am not sure if they'll leave Ally after this. "Caden emotionally comprehended. "Freddy will come here today with Ally. He will ask both of you, who'll willingly go with him. I don't know what he'll do with you or Ally. He said he just wanted one more girl. I can't afford to loose Ally. I-"
"Don't worry. I will go." Rayne mildly spoke with shivering voice.
Caden felt guilty the instant she said that. No matter how hard he tried to detain and go harsh on Rayne, he couldn't help but be thankful to her.
"Thank you, Rayne. I am so sorry." A tear tumbled down his cheek.
"Don't be sorry. It is alright." Rayne smiled. "Don't you want answers to your questions, now?"
"Yeah, it was part of the deal." He laughed dryly. " But first you need to get out of this filthy basement and eat something good."
"Wouldn't Freddy be angry on that?" Rayne asked.
