Chapter 8

08. Her wonts are decent .

Alec haven't been in a atmosphere as quiet as it was now. Although it was awkward but it gave immense relief to his mind.

Never in his twenty years of life, he had experienced such quietness. He loved it around Rayne. She didn't utter a word since the helicopter left.

" We should move forward. There is a road somewhere here", Alec said.

"NH5?", Rayne tried to confirm.

He looked at her, he was amazed that she knew these things.

"Yeah", he nodded.

And then without any other word they started walking . Alec was ahead and Rayne, walked behind him, carrying her guitar and book bag.

Don't know for how long they were walking, both were feeling hungry and thirsty but no one complained.

Now the thirst was unbearable, and hence Alec muttered, "Do you have water? "

" No." She answered.

Alec walked two steps and sat on a stone and patted the empty space next to him, gesturing Rayne to sit. Rayne hesitated for a few, but simply nodded and sat there without argument.

"So...you are a teenager", Alec laughed remembering the events of yesterday where her stupid answer made him laugh. He didn't laugh that often.

"Sorry", she apologized and stared at her hands.

"You're so cute. It was funny though", his comment made her blush. She probably looked like a tomato. She looked away, trying to hide her face.

He smiled again. "Don't hide your face. "

She turned around to look at him. Their face were inches away. They could feel their hot breathes on each other.

She took in the nice smell of his cologne. Her hair smelled like strawberries and her skin was as fragrant as vanilla and daisies.

Man, this was such a catch. Nobody expected any of this .

"I haven't seen you around that much", he stated .

She looked at him, utterly confused to what he was talking about .

He sensed this confused entity and elaborated his mind's reckon," I mean, I have been working with your father since I don't know when ."

"I used to go to the same middle school as you", she remembered the ugly norms of her father's mind that she without a second thought, implied to her serenity .

Alec was astound. Never in the time of his school days, he saw her. It was Chasity all the way. The bimbo did mentioned her sister a few times, but he never got the idea that Rayne lived in the same house as hers.

For moments that lingered on, followed a sort of confused atmosphere.

"Oh, but I never saw you", he gushed out .

"People always see everything but they never notice. Same is the case with you", she moved her lips .

"Maybe." It was the only word he could think of. Her thoughts and sets were so clear and pure that Alec couldn't bring out his normal self, the inner soul which dealt only with murders and money .

'How did I not see her? She was in my school ', He thought .

" I think we should move forward.", Alec rumbled and got up. Rayne followed behind him keeping a nice distance.
