37. Her eavesdrop nears a demolishment .
The 'wedding' day came sooner than Rayne had anticipated.
It was high time she enjoys her single life because in a span of less than six hours, her relationship status was going to change.
Rayne got out of Vince's room and dwindled in the hallway. It was a big and fancy mansion but it had no life.
Vince hadn't been in the house since he left, yesterday.
Feeling famished, a result of not eating the dinner, Rayne tried to find the kitchen. Morning like these are better off the day and days like these are better off the week and the week filled with such misery is nothing but the essence of this troublesome world.
It is quite ironical, how people say goodness isn't left in this selfish world because goodness is inside everyone and it only needs a little bit of kindling to 'show-it'.
Not everyone puts their goodness in full display because this selfish world has convoked their mind to comprehend that such trait is dumbness.
But yet this dumbness by Rayne did change hearts, many of them. It did make some feel that the life is so much more than a stupid business.
How pernicious the week had been for Rayne? Saying that only she could feel the pain would be an understatement because Alec, Caden, Amanda and Ian were right on the hook.
Walking slowing like she would smash the tiles with even the slightest of weight, Rayne moved into the next hallway.
As soon as she changed the hallway, she could faintly hear the distant baritone. It sounded like Vince.
It flummoxed Rayne. Now doubting the fact that Vince had been out, Rayne proceeded to the source of voice.
She knew eavesdropping is a bad thing but she couldn't help herself.
"She's going to be your wife, Vince." A different timbre of voice reached to Rayne's ears that wasn't Vince, probably some boy, maybe a friend of his.
The door was closed and hence Rayne walked closer to it and tried to hear clearly about a matter that had certainly proved to her serenity.
"I know but only for a week." Vince replied.
"What do you mean?" The other boy in the room asked.
"Dad want a revenge from James. Marrying her would piss James off. That's the only reason."
"But what will happen after?"
"Don't know. She'll be here but won't bother me. I'll tell her to live downstairs with the rest of the servants for the rest of her life."
Rayne's heart clenched. Seriously, was everybody so desperate to piss their enemies off that they become ignorant of her feeling. She could feel tears on the brink of her eyes.
"I thought you liked her." The other boy teased.
"Liked her? That statement is way off the hook. Have you seen her? She looks so fragile, so decent. She's not the girl for me, man. I liked Chasity better because she has such great legs but Dad told me to marry Rayne only."
"You could've married Chasity, dude."
"I don't want to marry. I think I'll have fun with more girls, for a little bit more."
"Well, if you're not interested in Rayne, why not giver her to me after a week. She looks yummy." The boy smirked.
"Sure."
Rayne nudged a little with the shock, that utterly broke her subtle self. She quickly gathered the courage to recover from the sock and move away before Vince notices her.
